KTLA Channel 5, Los Angeles used to do Twilight Zone marathons, on Thanksgiving Day. first time the hour long episodes aired in years.

I see there is no Doctor Who marathon listed, so I guess I won't need those 100 tacos for $100.

Cameron_Talley: Is this where we rattle off our favorite episodes? Mine is "Changing of the Guard," with Donald Pleasance.

But they're pretty much all excellent. Still some of the best writing every to grace television, IMO.

Changing of the Guard is on now. I hope you are watching.

Another classic good for Fark references, "The 7th is Made Up of Phantoms" is on now.

I'd like to place part of the blame for my own alienation and... eccentricity on old TZ reruns I viewed during my most formative years.

So, according to this, USA is playing Bond movies all day on the 4th?

Did someone not get the memo? A BRITISH secret agent, who, if he was around during the revolutionary war, would have decimated the founding fathers.

Now that would be some twisted movie making. James Bond in License to Revise History.

Only problem is the Aston Martin time machine would break down somewhere around 1984, and the only other flux capacitor around would be in the USA about to go to 1955.

Am I the only one who finds the James Bond marathon on USA during the Fourth of July holiday to be a little odd?

brigid_fitch: What? No Monk marathon? And why a Twilight Zone marathon AGAIN? Every holiday weekend, Sci-Fi trots that out.

/Whining only because whenever I tune in, it's always an episode I've seen before. I haven't seen them all--even the good ones like Talky Tina elude me.

I've seen pretty much all the originals except the final owl creek bridge episode. Certainly all the good ones. Multiple times. And yet, here's another Twilight Zone marathon...

I used to love that show once but goddamn the thing now.

One of my least favorites just ended. The one with the dolls in a collection barrel.

Ah, Five Characters in Search of an Exit?

Not a bad episode.

I wonder why Outer Limits isn't as revered as TZ? The writing just not of the same caliber?

Stephen King gives it a lot of love in Danse Macabre, and sort of acknowledges TZ. I have the Outer Limits boxed sets and I do love the show.

/still missing good anthology sci-fi/horror

I love the Twilight Zone marathons. They're about the only things I look forward to. Especially the New Year's Day marathon.

Favorite episode has to be "Two", but I think that's just because Elizabeth Montgomery is extremely hot in it. And brunette. And hot.

Also, the Burgess Meredith episodes are all great...even "Mr Dingle, the Strong" (mainly because of Rickles, though).

Mr Dingle is kinda goofy with the aliens... but I'll give it a pass for the same reasons.

Burgess Meredith ROCKED the Twilight Zone. The Obsolete Man, Time Enough at Last, Printer's Devil are all great.

If you are ever in doubt about what the twist is, it's usually that the protagonist is already dead.

OBsolete Man is on!!!!
