You really have to be an idiot to cybersquat this poorly what with all the national and international rules regulating this shiat.

Evidently, the link will not work while on a mobile device. I keep getting sent to their mobile home page and can't find the article anywhere on there.

They might have gone after it, if "disastrous" was spelled correctly.

I pretty much agree with that. Oh sorry; "THIS".

It just seems sort of... unfair to force someone to just give up the domain.

I gave The Listener a chance and thought it was a pretty good show, especially for the summer. I thought it was kind of cool that NBC produced a show set in Toronto.

Then I realized that it's a year-old CTV show, and NBC just bought the US distribution rights.

+1 for good taste, NBC.
-5 for letting a recycled Canadian show be the second best program (behind Chuck) on your network (and no, I didn't forget Heroes).

And thanks for canceling Life, assholes. You just pissed away the best cop show on TV. I guess you can always make another Law & Order.

Depends on who you ask. It seems these people owned an intellectual property. Leno didn't want to pay for it, apparently.

Yeah, I thought that was too obvious.
Just like his ass-chin, I suppose.

And you're right, his chin is near to a hole that spews out feces.
It makes perfect sense now.

It has to be obvious to get squatted. I am sure the guy who thought up iamnotfunnyandmychinlookslikeanass.com is waiting patiently for his payday.

I would argue that you shouldn't be able to cyber-squat stuff that is already copyrighted.

That said, one of my co-workers is a relatively prominent photojournalist (you would definitely recognize a few of his photos) and someone cyber-squatted his name. The person actually set up a fake site that includes basic information from my co-worker's real resume, so the fake site is claiming that it is run either by or for my co-worker.

And as far as I know, there's nothing he can really do about it. He contacted the site administrator, introduced himself and quickly learned that he could buy the domain for something like $10,000.

Do you mean best cop show still making new episodes, or have you never seen the Wire and Homicide: Life on the Street?

Southland isn't bad.

I'm not sure how to answer that.

First, I guess you could say shows that were still on. So if you compared Life against the CSI, the Law & Orders, NCIS, Without A Trace and even newer stuff like the Mentalist and Eleventh Hour, Life was the best.

I never really got into Homicide, because I was in high school for most of the show's run. And I don't think you can compare the Wire with network shows. To be honest, Dexter is probably my all-time favorite cop show, but I wouldn't even try to compare it to Life. It's a different format.

Life had really interesting characters, and I really liked the conspiracy arc that tied the show together. I just really enjoyed watching the show.

I've watched every episode of Southland, but I haven't been really impressed so far. The problem with an ensemble show with parallel stories is that the show's only as strong as its weakest sub-plot.

So I really like the stuff with the beat cops dealing with crazy shiat, but all the stuff with the detectives just seems old and tired.

The Unusuals might take over as my new favorite network cop drama.

If by recycled you mean premiered a day before the US did, then yes it is.

Perhaps you should "realize" Wikapedia a bit more carefully in the future.

This guy played by the rules, registered the name, paid for the privilege, and got hosed by lawyers.

His mistake was not hiring a teenager to blog about the show each night, or even once a month.

The un got a large amount of authority after defeating Charlie Chaplin and his panzerdinos.

Also, The Listener premiered in Canada way more than just a day before it did in the US. After NBC aired the first couple episodes and downloaded the entire first season. Someone had DVRed them off CTV.

So by the time the show started running in the US, it had already run all its episodes somewhere else. I'm not saying that's bad from the show's perspective. I'm saying NBC is a crappy network that should probably just stop making its own shows and buy shows from other countries. Or just take the shows from the USA network, which it owns, and run those on NBC.
