I traveled around Europe. Here's my take:
Pro's:
- Better educated, healthier, attractive populace
- More thoughtful civic design
- More developed sense of community
- More thoughtful resource management
- Significantly better (fantastic) public transit systems
- Less emphasis on commercialism
- Less polarized politics

Con's:
- Won't allow me to emigrate legally unless I marry a local

Um, my house was built in 1850. The building I am in right now was built the same year. I lived in another in East Greenwich that was from the late 1700's. No one is living in or has free access to any building over there that was built in 500 BC.
