(Contact Music) Obvious Jermaine Jackson says that he wishes it had been he who died instead of Michael. Well, at least that would have prevented what is now one of the biggest media circuses of all time   (contactmusic.com) divider line 23

If MJ would have lived to be 97, his death would have probably only drawn slightly more attention than Karl Maldens did the other day.

Man...pay attention. Meal tickets are far more valuable dead than alive.

lawboy87: If MJ would have lived to be 97, his death would have probably only drawn slightly more attention than Karl Maldens did the other day.

Most people who were Maldens' contemporaries have died already. Honestly, I bet most people under 40 haven't heard of Malden. He won the Oscar 58 years ago. Not exactly current events. That's why there was no big deal made about it. Plus he was 97. Not exactly a big surprise when a 97 year old bites it. But when a 50 year old who's been in the news ten, and probably one hundred times more than Malden, bites it suddenly, it tends to warrant coverage. Not this much, but coverage.

Jackson may be 'worth more dead than alive' (new window)

Ha! If it had been up to Michael, they'd all be dead! (new window, sorta NSFW, will probably make you dumber for having seen it, blah blah blah...)

saw his tv interview on cnn. might have been w/ larry king. he recited the lyrics to 'man in the mirror' like he was actually saying those words in the context of a conversation. my jaw hit the floor, metaphorically
