"The murder of Neda Agha-Sultan was a scenario and is not related to the Tehran unrest in any way," the network quoted Ahmadi-Moqaddam as saying.

Ok, so I can accept that they're going to blatantly lie, but what does the first part of that even mean? "The murder of Neda Agha-Sultan was a scenario," while technically a sentence, has got to be an error in translation.

The video of her death came out relatively early and is pretty graphic because she keeps her eyes on the camera before bleeding out. It's disturbing, and videos that graphic typically don't appear on television (just as this one didn't until a few days after her death; it was only available on youtube and through torrents and when the major news networks finally aired it, they censored her face and called it a "serious injury"). Symbolically, the video represents the fact that even the Supreme Leader can't keep everything suppressed and that the truth would get out eventually. People protesting rallied around her and claimed her death as a martyrdom for their cause, which is why the government wants to dismiss it as an unrelated murder that just happened to occur in the middle of the protests and that the doctor that was trying to stop her bleeding was actually the one who shot her.

Can anybody name one single solitary name of the hundreds of Pakistanis pounded into the farking dirt by American missiles and unmanned drones last week?

If America's enemies kill an innocent person, then ZOMG LOOK AT THE PICTURES!

If America's allies (or America themselves), kill an innocent person (or hundreds at once), it's an "unfortunate error". No names, nobody gets canned, nothing.

So take your add-water-instant-propaganda-Neda and pretend it's a suppository.

Then look up one single solitary name of any Palestinian shot to death by IDF troops in the last 5 days. And maybe look at their picture.

They mean "staged".

So far, I've heard the government claim:

- completely fake (i.e. no shooting or death)
- shot by thugs hired by the BBC's main Iran correspondent so he could film it
- shot by terrorists who were actually looking to shoot the sister of an MEK/MKO member (IOW, mistaken identity) and blame it on the government
- shot by one of allegedly numerous people merely *impersonating* Basij and/or police, including uniforms

Neda in Palestine, Sentenced to Die Alone

FTFA:

"When the mainstream American press chose to broadcast the graphic video -- as moving as the footage is, it is difficult to watch -- it made a commendable decision that nonetheless highlighted its hypocritical attitude towards Palestinians who resist Israeli occupation on a daily basis, and who often meet the same fate as Neda.

"Video of the Israeli army's shootings of Palestinians demonstrators are easily accessible through YouTube....These videos are no less outrageous than the video of Neda's death. However, to my knowledge, no outlet from the mainstream American media has ever broadcast them. And as far as I know, no cable news program, including liberal-leaning shows like Olbermann and Maddow, have never even mentioned the non-violent protests in Bi'lin and Ni'ilin, or Israel's brutal response. The videos remain unseen by America eyes. The struggles of Bi'lin and Ni'lin do not even play in Peoria."

Your attempt at trolling....

No, he has a point. You people glorify the shiat out of darkies dying in warfare, as long as you didn't do it. If any of you had any respect, "Neda" wouldn't be a household internetname.

zippolight2002: How is this thread not already at 100 posts? What happened to all of the people that posted in the "IRAN SUCKS XXXXXXXXVIII" threads? Oh wait... thats right... it was only 20 or so people posting over and over thinking they're making a difference.

Hmmm...maybe they all just got tired of being trolled to death? Maybe they are waiting for more news? It isn't gone, though. Much like the Iranian protests, it is only mutating.

LaraABCNewsSource: Protest is mutating into a more subtle but potent form. It's changed from the 1st week, but it's definitely not over #iranelection

pd771: Well, I don't know what Interpol is talking about, they already sent their best agent into Iran to investigate.

Niiice.

Interpol was on the grassy knoll, supplied Sirhan Sirhan with ammo, is causing global warming, and rigged the 2000 US and 2009 Iran elections.

He's one bad motherf-- (shut your mouth!) I'm jus' talkin' 'bout Interpol...

This. It's just not right to do this to a dead person, no matter how or why that person died. I felt disgusted when all the non-Iranian twitters started changing their icons to photos of her like if she were the new Che Guevara (I wouldn't be surprised if someone came up with the idea of combining the two).

Also this. I've been keeping in touch, as to not forget. The protests have gone stealthy, but once in a while they've gone active. It seems the Allahu Akbar shouts in the buildings remain, however.

Some dumb woman accidentally walks into the crossfire and she becomes a martyr?

Those protesters sure are struggling desperately to remain relevant, aren't they?

redconfetti: EsteeFlwrPot: Who the fark is Neda? Out of all the people that were shot in protests why is she the one everyone's crying over?

Because she was an innocent woman not even protesting and still someone shot her in the heart, killing her. Everyone suspects it was a member of the Basij which sniped her. The Basij are the ones with the guns, I don't think I saw any citizens protesting on the streets with guns.

Aren't they *all* citizens?

Did anyone else catch this bit of craziness from the 1 July Green Brief (^)?

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad reportedly said today that there was as much truth to electoral fraud in Iran as there was for the Holocaust. (Ahmadinejad is a Holocaust denier.)

I don't have tat's running post but I'm pretty sure in it he mentions that the Basij are not from Iran so no they aren't Iranian citizens. Boom, roasted.

You mean like the 20 or so idiots the kept repeating stupid shiat in Iran fark threads thinking they are actually making a difference? You are naive and a hypocrite. Good luck with that and the revolution. Just don't let the revolution interfere with your WOW or whatever gay shiat you normally do.

Earthlink had a headline I couldn't bring myself to read, which said something like "Experts calling Neda's death suspicious."

That's when I knew the Apocalypse was at hand.

The death of Crispus Attucks was also a bit suspicious. This did not make him any less of a symbol. I hope the "experts" can grasp this.

/now dismounting my History High Horsetm

Wasn't so much the symbolism. Just the idea that someone felt the need to weigh in with the obvious. It depressed me more than it should have.

Not if you lie to infidels or to make Islam look good, it isn't. Islam even has a word for it: taquiya.

It appears that they reside in the country and are citizens.
