Christ, you're still around??? I was hoping you were welcoming MJ through the gates of hell.

If by gates of hell you mean your moms vagina then yes.

/Does anyone know how MJ's kids are doing?

nimblehuman: News: There is a Canadian Football League
Fark: They play American football

Uh, no. American Football is actually based on a Canadian version of rugby.

In the 1860s, McGill University played two games of rugby against Harvard; one with American rules, one with Harvard rules. Harvard liked the game so much they adopted the Canadian ruleset. The rules in each country diverged over time (at one time, a Canadian football field of play was 100 yards long, not 110 yards).

roughridersfan: I've been seeing too much of this coordinated stuff for years in the CFL and it should be stopped. It makes the players doing it look like idiots. We've had guys pretending to be bobsledders, using another player and pretending to be on an exercise bike, players having a game of Duck-Duck-Goose and so forth. Ridiculous.

For me, the most embarrassing part is imagining them all coming up with ideas, and rehearsing them to see what "works" for them: "How about duck-duck-goose? You three sit down and I'll run over..."

CFL or NFL, it doesn't matter. You look retarded.

My roommate asked me why so many people from the black community like Michael Jackson since he pretty much rejected his race, dyed his skin white, had tons of surgery to change his nose and lips. I told her it was because he made Thriller.

/Don't know the real answer, but Thriller was awesome.

MightyPez: The last time I was in Montreal I was sitting in a pub drinking my beer when I saw they had the CFL on TV. Before this I didn't know there was a difference in rules. I asked the bartender why there were more yards on the field. I was treated to a 20 minute diatribe about all the different rules and why each were superior.

Remembering I didn't give a shiat about US or Canadian football, I learned my lesson and will from now on no longer engage locals in a Canadian ANY bar about anything local they might be actively engaged in watching at the time.

roughridersfan: Either way, this is not the kind of super showboating that goes on in the US.

I'm a CFL fan and I felt he should have been ejected (you can get ejected for excessive objectionable conduct) for that display.

Last year, the same guy pulled off his helmet and put on a Spider-man mask.

Zing, Guess I was wrong.

roughridersfan: Actually, the player who did it is an American.

Arland Bruce (new window)

Most of the Canadian players show a little more respect and just hand the ball to the referee after scoring.

OK that explains it, he is in training for the NFL.

I dug on some old MJ, but in all reality, Quincy Jones made Thriller.. I know lots of folks will disagree with me, but then explain why the albums that QJ produced did so well, and the others did good but not QJ good.

Why does the NFL always have to go after black football players? Unreasonable displays of pride in meaningless accomplishments is part of their culture, and the NFL is racist for fining them.

He removed his helmet while on the field (penalty), then took off his jersey and shoulder pads (they came off together), laid on the ground and crossed his arms like a dead man.

Shortly after on the sidelines, he said it was his tribute to Michael Jackson.

NorCalLos: The 50-year-old iconic entertainer died last week.

Kind of old for a football player, even in the Canadian league. And I don't think a CFL player qualifies as an "iconic entertainer."

The "celebration" was lame. He could've at least moonwalked before he died.

If he could moonwalk in cleats, he'd be the greatest dancer ever.

i'll let you in on a little secret, America. football players run up and down a field to carry a ball into the endzone for millions a year. and alot of young (and old) people think they are supermen and Heroes.

they aren't rocket scientists. just give them the ball and a juicy contract and they'll run with it.

I'm still trying to understand why he would perform that type of action in a celebratory manner. I mean, what convinces anyone who just did something great to rip off their clothing and lie dead on the ground in tribute of a celebrity who has no relation to me whatsoever? Was there anything to indicate to the crowd of people he was performing this in front of that it was in fact a tribute to Michael Jackson? Knowing they would have no clue what he was doing, why would he do it? At the risk of facing punishment and fines? Even if this was a "tribute" to Michael, how exactly is it a tribute to his memory to lay down and look dead like a corpse? "Man, I love you Michael. Instead of saying a prayer for you and pointing the sky, or a dance move that would inform the crowd I enjoyed your music, I'm going to inexplicably rip off my shoulder pads and lie dead on the ground like your body currently looks. I know that's what you would have wanted." It just doesn't add up. It's farking stupid.

I posted, went to do some work... mind clicked and I figured I'd check back in for an apology - wanted to make sure that you were aware you had indirectly pwned my brain.

PS. Good golf should have several pitchers, some before you get on the course, following the front 9, and plenty when you finish.
