As someone who grew up where it never seemed to be below 95 degrees and it never seemed to rain, fark you people for complaining about rainy, cool weather.

At least our tomato crop is thriving.

Really? My tomatoes are pathetic... They need some sun and some hot to get going.... In fact, the entire veggie garden is pathetic right now.... not nearly enough sun. (the lawn on the other hand...sheesh!)

Dear Mother Nature,

Thank you for making sure that I didn't have to water the grass seed I planted last weekend every day, but isn't this a little big much?!

You know you have a lot of rain the forcast when the local weatherman utters this,"There will me rain this weekend folks. But look at it this way: There will be more sun than rain."

Thanks

/Is in MA

I heard a rumor today that a magical orb will appear in the sky sometime this weekend. They say that it will be round, a yellow/orange color, very bright and give off warmth.

But that is just a rumor.

Eh... nice and sunny and muggy as hell here in Fall River, MA. Everything is so farking green from all the rain, it's great.

Going to grab a joint and a beer and head outside to decompress from work before it gets all biblical again... Maybe watch the wood chuck who's chosen my back yard for his lair clear out the entrances to his tunnels again.

I saw it for a couple of minutes today. Then again, it could have just been a water-induced hallucination.

/Sixxtwo I saw those LED signs on I-90 for the first time a couple weeks ago. What the hell's the point of that?

These LED signs are the ones I am on about.

Aqua Teen Hunger Force, a show on Adult Swim, did an ad campaign in Boston back in '07. They put electronic signs similar to the one you posted, in various places around town. People panicked because they somehow looked like bombs and it was a whole big emergency.

It is 100F outside and hardly a cloud in the sky plus so humid you can wear the air, and it has mostly been this way for a month. I'll trade weather for a while if there are any takers in the Northeast.

Are you kidding me? Weather is NOT an excuse to dealy good grilling. I have been known to stand outside and grill some steaks in the middle of a blizzard. The snow banks just helps to keep my beer cold.

No fire that bad boy up, upen an umbrella and get your grill on.

By the way, look straight up the highway beyond the overpass. See that bridge way up there? Yeah, that is the bridge that goes over the Missouri river on a normal day. See all that water in the foreground of the picture? Yeah, that is the Missouri river on this day.

Just a lil' perspective. I remember sandbagging days in and day out...

At this very moment trillions and trillions of mosquito larvae are smiling as the rain softens our will to live. They're just biding their time, waiting for the sun to come out and give us false hope for a happy summer. Then they'll hatch. They'll come in squadrons. exposed skin will will have welt upon welt. You will be weak from lack of blood and will happily douse yourself with carcinogenis chemicals in search of relief. They'll just laugh at your attempts at relief and keep sucking.

Anyway, have a nice day!

Thal 2009-07-02 07:17:12 PM
Wow, no flooding here, but a wicked thunder storm a few days ago did provide me the opportunity to rent a boom lift. My sacred bedroom has been taken over by water spots on the ceiling and buckets :(

Now if it will stop raining, I can fix the roof in time for my house to be burned down by errant fireworks!

tetsoushima: I finally got a chance to mow my lawn yesterday because every single time I had a chance for the past 3 weeks, it rained.

It's shredding wet clover...every lawn in my hood is all clover now for some insane reason, and when it's wet the mover just pulls the leaves off and doesn't cut it...like to rent a goat from the farm up the hill, but I bet they're not even hungry...

I just spent the last two weeks out there. It barely rained. Maybe you guys need to update your damn crumbling infrastructure so that your rain water will drain instead of having to wait for it to evaporate.

Madison_Smiled 2009-07-03 11:07:25 AM
Cheer up, everyone. Tomorrow's sure to be a perfect sunny day. Why? Because I'm stuck doing standby at a children's 4th of July parade, and there's no way the gods love me enough to rain the little bastards out.
