jxb465: Terlis: GoldSpider: It's amazing how many Farkers live within a half hour of Harrisburg. Think a Fark party is long overdue.

We have one once a month! There is a Fark/Twitter/Blog group that meets at ABC Brewery on Cameron St. every third Wednesday.

Does Weaver95 go? He seems to hate SCPA, but I wonder if that's just his Fark personality or if he really is such a negative person irl.

I think he went to the last one, I wasn't there though.

My grandmother lives in Cambria county, in Emeigh. Central PA is depressing as hell to visit. It's like they stopped maintaining almost everything after the 50's, except the rare food franchise next to the interstate.

There are no interstate's in Cambria County.

...and there's no apostrophe in "interstates".

/'Nuff said

Boy do I love that image about the apostrophe'!! Can you post it again? I ca'nt get enough of it's wonderful lesson teaching ability's.

Literacy is a virtue, friend.

Since I have no way of knowing anything about you except through your writing, I am forced to conclude that you are a functional illiterate (if I give you the benefit of the doubt) or perhaps even a full-blown retard. For that you have nobody to blame but yourself.

/It's not hard to figure out
//Why don't you try next time

LOL Adolf.

I don't think I would be too worried about aluwishus he's from Texas. I mean come on George Bush is functionally retarded and didn't he run the state for awhile. So I am sure that in his everything is bigger in Texas sad sad pathetic world he is the smartest kid with Downs Syndrome. ( No offence against the actual handicapped just retards from Texas)

Likewise, I'm a "keystoner" whose become massholized, and I find the lesser towns in Mass, to be every bit as annoying as the hinterlands of PA.

The Harrisburg area, sans Harrisburg itself, is a much better place to live than Pittsburgh. In fact, I am of the opinion that the entire west half of the state should be given to Ohio and WV to split between themselves however they see fit.

Dont Call Me Shirley: A party sounds good, but keep it out of downtown Hbg. its like the OK Corral right now. I vote for Gullifties

I've been to Gullifities 3 times and I work across the street. I think that should sum up my feelings on the place.

at McDonalds or the Hess station....j/k

To be fair, this is Newburg. Not alot happens in Newburg.

GoldSpider: EvilClosetMonkey: You people act like there's nothing to do in northcentral PA. Haven't you ever played "count the porno shops" while driving up Rt. 15? Them's some good times...

I'm actually heading that way (to Selinsgrove) this evening. It's staggering, but it's not as much fun as "the I-78 sign". It's like Christmas every time I go past it: what's the fundy moonbat raging against THIS month??

My car broke down in Selingsgrove once, on the day before hunting season (all the auto mechanics were already closed for the day, even though it was only noon). The tow truck driver took me to his cousin's garage to fix my VW -- literally a garage in the back of this guy's house; the yard was full of VWs. He repaired the car for the price of the part (ignition coil). His bathroom was wall-papered in Hustler centerfolds.

I have lived in Cambria county (Carroltown of all places...) I can only agree with this statement.

As I recall, there are a slew of them after you get out of Harrisburg and then there are a few scattered ones every 15 miles or so. I can only imagine how interesting visiting one might actually be but I've heard some stories. All I can say is that there's apparently a roll of paper towels next to the seats in the "comfortable viewing booths" for a reason. I can only wonder what the Amish think about them.

Sid_6.7: abmoraz: There are no interstate's in Cambria County.

I said the interstate in central PA, not that specific county. We usually take I-99 north to 22 West, and then 219 North. Arrive in the middle of nowhere.

yeah, but where it dead ends at the rail yard, you can get a good hoagie.

//Dr. Tom's Leather and Fireworks shop is a far greater attraction along 11/15 than any porn shop.
//Seriously, go in there some time.
