YAR'S REVENGE!!!!

(The Adventure movie would be good too. Keanu would be perfect for playing a block with a sword)

Yar's Revenge. I read this whole damn thread to see if it had been mentioned yet and I see it at post 203. Now that was my favorite game from the 2600 and I've always wanted to see some kind of story for it.

Masso: Hmm... Actually to be fiar, Pixar would make anything works.
Now that I think about it, Pixar's Star Fox wouldn't be a bad idea either.

...

THIS!!!eleventy!

Star Fox would absolutely rock as a Pixar film.

/I just heard John Ratzenberger shout "Do a barrel roll!"

Video Games I would make into a movie (that have not been mentioned) let me show them to you
Jade Empire
KOTOR I and II

Phantom_Lord 2009-07-02 06:57:46 PM
Farkwaddle: StarCraft? A little newer than the 80's games, but still might make a movie. Assuming that the movie wouldn't be centered around a player who turtles.

Two words: Starship Troopers

/but with Protoss
//Aiur, my life for it

I third the motion for Yars' Revenge, there's even some storyline to work with...

Yars' Revenge Comic

Jeff Goldblum could be the main protagonist... no Geena Davis tho.

/hot!

Oh, wow. I used to think that was the coolest game evar. At this time, however, I can't recall the name of it......

/thanks for the memories

Adventure. You can find a flash game of it somewhere out there. It's horrible. As soon as you grab one of those keys, those giant dragon-birds come right for you.

Wait, that's the story behind that game? Seriously? My God, my childhood really was full of garbage. The game was fun, but I think I liked it better when I didn't know the story.

If anyone else is into the idea of burning Hollywood to the ground as a matter of principal, meet me behind the dumpster after school.

cyb0burnt: Yars' Revenge Comic

That's hilarious. I love the early 80s airbrush graphics. And the rendering style is similar yet different from the black-outline-with-non-registered-colorblobs look from the late 70s that you see on the Missile Command graphics.

Farkwaddle: I'm still eagerly waiting on the "Oregon Trail" movie. I mean "Little House on the Prairie" was kind of a half-arsed attempt. They didn't even get past the continental divide! Lazy, wholesome family. I will not be satisfied until they lose half of their wagon from fording a deep river or little Timmy gets taken out by Malaria. And they have to subsist on squirrels since the dad can't seem to find a good hunting spot.

Apple IIe FTW!

They've done it.

Can they even think of doing Splinter Cell without Michael Ironside as Sam Fisher?

Mike: My understanding is Bailey designed Centipede, Logg coded Centipede, and Ed Rotberg (not Ed Logg) did (and almost quit over) Battlezone.

Ah, thought that Bailey coded centidede as well, and my bad about Rotberg. Long day...

//coding a Bally pinball right now

Over the years, many videogames have been adapted into major motion pictures...

This summer, get ready to see what started it all...

START BUTTON: THE MOVIE!

Starring Nicholas Cage as Start Button, a man so obsessed with thrills and adventure, he doesn't just look for action... He makes it happen!
Wired for excitement! Programmed for danger! Even the slightest pressure can set him off, so unless you're looking to start something, don't push him!

Start Button: The Movie!
Once it gets started, that's only the beginning!

I was thinking about

but the 'Cube' movies kinda covered it. Kinda.

Gyrfalcon: Can they even think of doing Splinter Cell without Michael Ironside as Sam Fisher?

When I first saw The Sum of All Fears, I thought Liev Schreiber's character was Sam Fisher.
