PirateKing: One game I would like to see made into a movie would be something based on the Legacy of Kain/Soul Reaver line of games.

Why ruin a great story by trying to tell a 15 hour story in under 2?

I love the game, but would not wish the cannon destroying power of a movie franchise on either Kain/Soul reaver or Metroid.

Will the characters use the camp-in-the-corner-of-the-screen trick in the movie?

Seriously, if this abomination really happens, please tell me Ed Logg will get a percentage. (If you don't know who he is, he coded Asteroids, Centipede, and Gauntlet...)

Electriclectic: Tony Baloney: And was there anything worse than Street Fighter?
Street Fighter: The Movie: The Game was worse than Street Fighter: The Movie.

My favorite thing about Street Fighter: The Movie: The Game is that it didn't contain "The Game" in the title.

The game was called Street Fighter: The Movie.

Frankly, I'd rather see a comedy show based on the Atari offices in the early 80s, a la Code Monkeys, than an Asteroids movie.

The stories about some of the stuff they did were a mix of the funny, outrageous, and geeky, between the "Out Standing In Our Field" video, lighting a guy's desk on fire to try to get his attention during a phone call, and an employee going on the PA screaming "Imperial stormtroopers have entered the base!" repeatedly when new Atari owner Jack Tramiel entered the offices for the first time.

Tony Baloney: Um... I hate to sub for Captain Obvious, but -- barring the spectacularly cheesetastic -- does anyone here really think there has ever been a video game that translated well into a movie? IIRC, Super Mario Bros was so bad that John Leguizamo had to take a drag queen role to seem more manly...

The Mortal Kombat movie wasn't bad. Yeah, it was a rewrite of 'Enter The Dragon' for the most part. But it wasn't bad, and in some parts, could almost pass as good.

dletter: But, I can think of a number of other early 80s Video games that seem like they could be fleshed out into at least a movie with maybe a plausible story for a movie more than Asteroids: Dig Dug, Jungle King, Joust, Moon Patrol, Robotron: 2084, Missle Command.

I'd pay to see Joust as a movie, even if it was directed by Uwe Boll. Knights on CGI flying ostriches? Yes, please.

On one condition: everyone involved in it is required to be 100% unaware of the existence of the Adventure games or later cartoon shows. If they are going to use any external source beyond the original Genesis/CD/Whatever games, it must be the saturday morning cartoon set on the planet Moebius.

The little fox-thing's name is TAILS. Not Miles mutherfarking "Tails" Prower.

Victor Sagat: Is this a joke? This money isn't even worth the paper it's printed on!
Bison: On the contrary. Every Bison dollar will be worth five British pounds. That is the exchange rate that the bank of England will implement after I kidnap their queen.

Chun Li: My father saved his village at the cost of his own life. You had him shot as you ran away. A hero at a thousand paces!
Bison: I'm sorry... I don't remember any of it.
Chun Li: You don't remember?
Bison: For you, the day Bison graced your village was the most important day of your life. But for me... it was Tuesday.

Bison: Ah! Doctor Dhalsim! How is your research today?
Dr. Dhalsim: The same. Warped. Corrupted. My science twisted to serve perversion instead of peace.
Bison: Tell you what. After I've crushed my enemies, we'll see about getting you published. That should cheer you up, hmm?

Bison: I hoped to face Guile face-to-face on the battlefield, where we could engage each other in respectful combat. Then I would snap his spine. But why? Why do they still call me a warlord? And mad? All I want to do is to create the perfect genetic soldier. Not for power, not for evil, but for good. Carlos Blanka will be the first of thousands. They will march out of my laboratory and crush every adversary, every creed, every nation! Until the world is in the loving grip of the Pax Bisonica. And peace will reign and all humanity will bow to me in humble gratitude.
Zangief: That vas beautiful boss!
