Yeah, it's much better to see a list in video form, instead of in text form. You know, so I can't reference it quickly when I'm wondering when a game comes out.

At least it wasn't a retarded ScrewAttack video

Could've told you this was going to be a dumb month. Really it'll be a worthless few till Alpha Protocol and Dragon Age: Origins come out.

Can anyone suggest a nice dungeon crawler in the mean time?

Calander? Calendar....

But aside from that, everything good usually hits around October... just in time for Christmas.

I'll just stick to WoW and Overlord II for the time being. Still debating if I am going to switch from Ally to Horde. Guess I need to see if all my achievements are going to be wiped, first.

Depends upon what type of dungeon crawlers you're into. Are you more JRPG, American RPG, old school? And what system?

If you like the thought of having a horde of minions to do your bidding, Overlord II is good; and rather funny.

And to comment upon the porn games, back in the 80s, there were some porn games for the Commodore 64. I remember finding my stepfather's hidden stash when I was cleaning the basement. CGA graphics aside, I remember being impressed with the detail on the graphics.... kinda funny, the best pictures were devoted to porn games, but Bards Tale was horrid.

Nothing on there interests me.

For football: I think I'll actually wait for backbreaker to come out.

Otherwise there really is nothing great until Modern Warfare 2.

Japan puts out a ton of eroge games, which are hentai games by and large. Some of the larger, more popular ones get ether fan translations (Fate/Stay Night) or offical releases (like say, X-Change).

Fate was actually a interesting game, sex aside. Really epic story, so much that it spawned two sequals, a fighting videogame, an anime, and a manga.

Yea, there are always the Japanese games to tickle your fancy. Being female, the hentai doesn't appeal to me too much, but there are times. I never got around to checking out Fate/Stay Night. And yes, I am an otaku (hug anime collection).

I'll have to check it out. :) Thanks.

Wii owners should check out Little King's Story. It may not look it, but it supposedly very deep, challenging, and really well done. Some Europeans (lucky bastards got it last month) are calling it their game of the year so far for all systems. Gotten fantastic reviews so far as well.

mecaenas: WTF is a calander?

From Wikipedia:

The calender is a series of hard pressure rollers at the end of a papermaking process (on-line). Those that are used separate from the process (off-line) are also called "supercalenders". The purpose of a calender is to smooth out the paper for printing and writing on it, and to increase the gloss on the surface.

The word "calender" itself is a derivation of the word kylindros, the Greek word for "cylinder".[1]

In the past, the paper sheets were worked on with a polished hammer or pressed between polished metal sheets in a press. With the continuously operating paper machine it became part of the process of rolling the paper (in this case also called web paper). The pressure between the rollers, the "nip pressure", can be reduced by heating the rolls and/or moistening the paper surface. This helps to keep the bulk and the stiffness of the web paper which is beneficial for its later use.

Modern calenders have "hard" heated rollers made from chilled cast iron or steel, and "soft" rollers coated with polymeric composites. This widens the working nip and distributes the specific pressure on the paper more evenly.

That, or subby failed 3rd grade English.

Really? Um, have you noticed the schedule this year and into next year? Ghostbusters, Infamous, Mirrors Edge, LOTR Conquest, the Star Oceans, Afro Samurai, Fear 2, Street Fighter, Killzone 2, Halo Wars, Tomb Raider Underworld, Mad World, Resident Evil 5, Resistance Retribution, Wanted, Chronicles of Riddick, X-men Origins, Prototype, Red Faction, and Overlord II all came out already this year.

That list is just the decent ones, not including DLC, downloadable games, or any sports games. Sorry, but it's come to the point where we get at least one or two good games every month throughout the year.

Antimatter 2009-07-02 10:57:04 AM
Frow: Oh boy....more 2D fighting games.

ah, these are actually pretty rare in this day and age. Really good ones only come out every few years, leading a lot of tournament players to play the same stuff over and over for years. We got a lot of these games due to the major tournaments depreciating several games, such as Street Fighter 3 3rd strike and King of Fighters.

This year has been a sort of rebirth, with all the major franchises getting some love. Also seeing re-releases of two classics this year, Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD, which we got this spring, and Marvel vs. Capcom 2, which is due in july.

Nothing on there really interests me, but a couple of things that did catch my attention:

-The DS FPS. I've been wary of these but that didn't seem half bad.
-The Bigs 2. I don't play sports games very often these days but it reminded me of Baseball Simulator 1.000, which I loved way back when.

From everything that I've heard Madden has got all the attention for next gen (I guess current gen now) consoles. You may be better off waiting another year, but I'm sure the story will be the same then.

Total War series, Civilzation series, and better online support/more mods for FPS games.

/FWIW I have a PC, Wii, and 360
//PC simply does have more great games then any console

Well, they've still got consoles licked on strategy games. I played the demos for Halo Wars and C&C3 on 360. Bleh.

7/10 on trolling. Not bad.

As an uber-nerd, I have two projectors going through polarized lenses onto a 100" screen. Nvidia graphics cards have native stereoscopic support, so I am playing games in true 3D. Show me a console that can do that.

Cool! Same here, kinda :D Don't have to use Nvidia, either - I'm using ATI - iz3d has a driver you can use with either card set, and it works AMAZING. Fallout 3 *IS* better on PC, since ps3 can't do stereoscopic 3D!! :D and wow, G.R.I.D. is PHENOMENAL! :) I could go on, but anyway -

Just out of curiosity, did you use a paint screen, or buy one? I did a bunch of experementation to find a paint that would hold polarization right, but now I'm looking into finding some of the dolby 3d glasses (plus an extra set to cut apart and use for filters); they supposedly work on non-silver screens really well, and have a much higher extinction rate than polarized filters. I have no problem with the silver, but I moved to the dual-projector 3d setup from a single projector on a light grey screen, and I liked the picture quality on grey a lot better, so...

Anyway, good gaming! :)

I went to berezin.com to buy a DaLite screen, glasses, and 3x3" pieces of polarized plastic. Yeah, I'm going to go with the iz3d stuff and a new video card when Win 7 comes out.

Mirrors Edge is awesome if you don't get motion sick easily. Also 3D Sex Villa, for the subby.
