Subby is clearly in Alaska...

spqr_ca: Subby is clearly in Alaska...

By that standard we still are more North (e.g., Alert, Resolute).

PumpUpDaFark 2009-07-02 11:51:23 AM
Silly farkers, logic is for kids.

FLMountainMan 2009-07-02 11:53:05 AM
I'm seeing what you did there, it's just not that funny or entertaining. By that same hilarious logic, why don't we make jokes that France borders Canada?

sab6300 2009-07-02 11:53:07 AM
So thats what about $2 American

North is the new South!

I came here trying to find someone making sense of the headline and you all failed.

I weep for the day a Simpson's reference goes unnoticed on Fark.

I work for the Canadian Mint so I'm really getting a kick...

Ha ha! I get it.

Subby went way over all your heads!

untaken_name 2009-07-02 11:55:09 AM
Dude, subby, come on. You must be a U.S. American with a shortage of maps. Canadia is CLEARLY located to the EAST of the U.S., not the South, silly.

/Some people, geeeeeez.

osdrcomputers 2009-07-02 11:55:37 AM
Came for some Canadian jokes and left disappointed.

n00b_no_skillz 2009-07-02 11:56:25 AM
clearly subby's headline skillz have gone south.

untaken_name 2009-07-02 11:56:25 AM
Bondith: I weep for the day a Simpson's reference goes unnoticed on Fark.

It wasn't the "Why would I leave America to visit America Junior?" one. That one always gets lots of love.

fireclown 2009-07-02 11:56:31 AM
Nothing outside the US is worth anything, and no place outside of the US has crime.

If I am not much mistaken, Detroit MI is slightly north of Windsor ON.

What's with this recent rash of headlines written by the functionally retarded?

GoodDoctorB [TotalFark] 2009-07-02 11:58:39 AM
I think it could have been considered a Simpsons reference if it said anything about Canada being "all tucked away down there."

But it did not.

I see what you almost did there.

My Baloney Has No First Name 2009-07-02 11:58:54 AM
fatal_exception: There's a meme or obscure reference I'm missing here, right?

Nope, just a lame headline. Nothing to see here.

Canada is a third-world shiat hole.

There, begin.

You can get anything you want, at the Royal Canadian Mint. Just walk right in, it's around the back, just a half mile from Parliament, oh you can get anything you want, at the Royal Canadian Mint (exceptin' Ian)...

Pardon Me Sultan 2009-07-02 12:10:59 PM
Did you ever get the sense that the mods don't actually read Fark?

...I just found a million dollars that someone forgot... Its days like this that push me over the brink... Cool ranch dressing...

Candygram4Mongo 2009-07-02 12:13:31 PM
Well, clearly this is headline is just a riff on 20th century American ignorance, since in the 20th century, if you asked an American to find Canada on a map, he'd more likely start looking south than north.

Of course, it is hard to relate to that now in the 21st century. Because these days, if you ask an American, "where is Canada on a map," they don't look south. Nor do they look north. Instead they look at you and say "Map? Canada? Who GIVES a shiat?"

Boberto 2009-07-02 12:13:58 PM
Ned the Wookie: Canada is a third-world shiat hole.

I think you mean, Australia. And it prefers to be called the world's third asshole - in line with North Korea, Cambodia.

wintremute 2009-07-02 12:15:16 PM
So no one has bothered to actually count the gold?

Goggles_Pisano 2009-07-02 12:20:03 PM
I predict that by the end of the year, FARK will be comprised entirely of Canadian Mint, Michael Jackson and Jeremy Mayfield headlines.

Sue Dunham 2009-07-02 12:27:49 PM
Actually the southermost point in Canada is south of the northern border of California.

You are correct sir.

Actually Canada is south of the US, at least part of it.

I'm standing in my office in Niagara Falls, NY looking south...at Canada.

I don't get it but Windsor Ontario IS south of Michigan

canaDn [TotalFark] 2009-07-02 12:43:27 PM
Repeated article, fail; headline, fail; a double play!

Sabatoa > I think he means Point Pelee, Ontario which is the southernmost point of Canada... but the only California connection I know of is that Toronto Beach and Ontario (city) in California were originally settled by Canadians.
