Well, clearly this is headline is just a riff on 20th century American ignorance, since in the 20th century, if you asked an American to find Canada on a map, he'd more likely start looking south than north.

Of course, it is hard to relate to that now in the 21st century. Because these days, if you ask an American, "where is Canada on a map," they don't look south. Nor do they look north. Instead they look at you and say "Map? Canada? Who GIVES a shiat?"

I personally believe that US Americans are unable to locate Canada on a map because uh, some people out there in our nation don't have maps and I believe that our education like such as South Africa and uh, the Iraq, everywhere like such as and I believe that they should...our education over here in the US should help the US or should help South Africa and should help the Iraq and the Asian countries so we will be able to build up our future for our children.

If insiders doing it, better to take the gold about to be melted for coins, mixing in other metals to make up the difference. All the gold used would be accounted for, theft not being discovered until some coin buyer does a test on their supposedly pure gold coin.
Some gold coins minted are pure gold, most of the US gold coins are 90% gold, 10% copper. for hardness, pure gold is softer.

Ok really, if subby is saying that because an obscure protrusion of Canada falls south of the US, then ok but stupid headline because you have to reach too far.

If subby is referring that a good bit of Canada falls south of Alaska, then ok but stupid headline because if the joke has to be explained, it isn't funny.

If subby is referring to the aforementioned fact that people will start looking south for Canada on a map, then ok but the only idiots that would do that wouldn't get the joke anyway, and the rest have to take a minute to understand what you're saying.

All in all, headline fail. It got greenlit simply for the sake of entertaining thread confusion.
