No, her "Baltimore" song is pretty much the most embarrassing thing.

/I prefer Nina Simone's take on Baltimore; "never going back. never going back."

I would have to say that her "acting" stint on the court drama "Trial By Fire" would be her most embarrassing. And no, I'm not looking up the url.

True story (and forgive me if this is common knowledge at this point), but she beat out Sarah Jessica Parker for the Kelloggs commercial due to the fact that she can actually play the piano.

Tori also tried out for Lea Thompson's role in Howard The Duck , which probably would've killed any kind of career in show business if she got the part.

Good grief, you couldn't turn around in the late 80s without seeing a promo of that in the used racks. I've got at least one that I know of; might have two.

/used to review records

I love Tori's voice. I also love the sound of the piano. As a result, I own every Tori Amos album ever made (and I'm a guy). One of the additional quirks I have: I pretty much never hear lyrics when I'm listening to music -- only the melody and harmony.

So at some point after a few years, I went to see Tori in concert. And I'm here to tell you, she does appear to have some sort of carnal relationship with them piano when you watch her in person. The other odd thing to happen was, for some reason, when watching her in person I suddenly heard all the lyrics. It was really freaky. And man, all these years I never knew what these songs were about and now... well now, it's really been an eye-opener.

And now you have this corn flakes commercial to add to all those wonderful memories you have of Tori Amos.

Used to be a big fan...Used to really want to fark her (I would've been cool having a threesome with her and the piano if that's what it took)

Little Earthquakes album>Y Kant Tori Read album>every Tori album since.

Yeah- it's just not fair. She makes a career out of humping a piano but I do it just one time and bam- banned from church.

Same. I'm not really a Tori fan, but my ex- liked her and I listened to a few of her albums. The interesting thing about "Y Kant" is that although the arrangement and instrumentation is clearly pitched at an '80s-era pop crowd, the songwriting is clearly Tori struggling to fit her own peculiar tastes into a format that doesn't work for her. The chord progressions and melodies are not particularly pop-like, and are much more like what she would wind up writing on her own.

Ha. Y Kant Tori Read--my roomie at the time (1991) was a huge Tori Amos fan, he actually tracked down a copy of that demo off the Interwebz and had it sent to him. It was a taste of the power of the Webbernets.

Blink: I love Tori's voice. I also love the sound of the piano. As a result, I own every Tori Amos album ever made (and I'm a guy).

I like Tori's voice and the sound of the piano, too. However, I don't like JUST Tori's voice and the sound of the piano, which is a majority of her damn songs.

From the Choirgirl Hotel and To Venus and Back were her two best albums.

/yes, I'm a electronica fan

Funny thing about that album: promo copies are easy to find, but regular copies (without the promo stamp) are don't exist and bring about $100.

Saw her in Asheville once. I dont care what anybody says, watching her grind and writhe on the corner of her piano bench was hot.

She occasionally still does Cool On Your Island from that disc - great song! Seeing her live is really a great experience - her voice is amazing and her grinding on the bench is really hot :)

Somehow in my internet wanderings I found a song off Y Kant Tori Read called "Fire On The Side." Imagine Tori trying to be Celine Dion, complete with overwrought fake emotion. It's awesome.
