Welcome to 2 months ago, subby.

How many times are we going to here about this?

What's silly here? The fact that this story is on its 4th or 5th go around on this site?

I'm not sure, but I'm awfully tired of hearing about it.

Evolution of NASCAR from moonshiners to tweakers

Eunuch Provocateur 2009-07-01 03:38:02 PM
Diehl argued in court that Mayfield has never shown any characteristics of a meth abuser

...he's had to lay off 10 employees, borrow money from family and sell personal assets to meet his living expenses.

He's already broke and he's only been suspended 2 months? Sounds tweaky to me

Isn't meth a middle class suburban mom drug now?

Oh and how many times is this gonna get reposted?

He test positive for meth, make car go fast?

Broktun 2009-07-01 03:50:20 PM
He doesn't have ADHD.

He got the Adderall prescription from a Men's clinic, not from his family doctor, or from a psych doctor.

Broktun | He should have asked for a prescription for Desoxyn.

one car, owner/driver set up.

he managed to make himself totally unhirable byt talking sh*t to the press during the Ray Evernham/Erin Crocker thing. No owner would hire him after that.

This was the only way he could get a ride, and he probably leveraged himself to the gills to do it.

Is there anyone that follows the "Sports" tab on Fark, that is still ignorant of the facts in this story? The "NASCAR driver reflects rednecks and tests positive for meth, your dog wants steak." is getting a little old...

/don't even watch or appreciate NASCAR.

yequalsy 2009-07-01 04:11:12 PM
A decent headline would point out that there is actually news here: Mayfield an injunction against NASCAR.

Fishflinger 2009-07-01 04:17:10 PM
Mayfield actually won something?

yequalsy 2009-07-01 04:20:07 PM
Now I'm in a serious dilemma. Should I root for Mayfield to win Daytona or for him to cause the big crash at Daytona? I suppose I could root for both.

I, for one, am excited to see Mayfield kill a bunch of innocent drivers this weekend. It's been far too long since the last celebrity death.

/*crosses fingers for Dale Jr.*

Who's going to want to run 190 mph, 6-inches from a suspected drug user with ADHD??? I can see it now, Mayfield is going to be in the main pack (maybe already a lap down) but then notice a butterfly out the right side window then BAM! Into Waltrip (who may be already a lap down too)...

Close the thread, we have a winner!

He may have won in court, but I do know he's been doing meth and or coke for quite awhile. He also enjoys quite a bit of wild turkey. All that said, I bet it takes his car a long long time to pass through inspection this weekend.

Pics or it didn't happen.

"Mayfield's wife Shana took over as owner of the team while Mayfield was suspended."

Oh, how he suffered! Losing his own team and all...

tricycleracer 2009-07-01 05:06:02 PM
He claimed the positive test was the result of combining prescribed Adderall for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and Claritin-D for allergies.

I'm no chemist, but that does seem believable.

Adderall is dextroamphetamine and levoamphetamine in one pill.

The 'D' in Claritin-D is pseudoephedrine.

I can see how that could draw a false positive on a methamphetamine test.

Because, you know, he's the only one doing it...nobody else out there is on the greenies...

psst...its a big secret, but pro athletes [racecar drivers qualify] use substances to enhance their performances...

Well it just became news worthy again, Judge lifts Mayfield's ban.

When they put the sample through a GC, a big spike shows at the "methyl" position. I haven't had general chem in 20 years, but that is how it works

Subby, Can you tell me who won the 2009 Super Bowl and what happened on the season finale of "Lost" too?
