I partied with Scotty in Anchorage one Friday night.. got ripped at Koots. (this was after his 2nd season, where he didnt make the all star team, which he made his rookie year..all star weekend for the NHL)
Apparently, my friends and I invited him to go boarding at Alyeska on Saturday. Well, I forgot all about this.. and the next morning, we are cutting through a parking lot after picking up some friends and there he is, standing at what I think is a roadside coffee shop his sister/family owns. Now, this was a by chance meeting, but he stops me.. starts talking to me, and says "we still going"?

Long story short, apparently I made plans to take him boarding with us, and i don't remember that. I'm guessing I told him we were going to be passing through that area in the morning.. and we'd pick him up there. --I'm guessing.. otherwise, this was a hell of a coincidence.

He met us up there as we didn't have room in my truck.

whatever..just wanted to share.

I feel bad for anyone who plays in Montreal. It's a great city, with a great NHL history. It also has retarded media and outlandish fan expectations. All Canadian cities are like this, but Montreal is the worst of the lot.

The Shoveller, I don't think it's much worse than the Yankees, or the Cowboys.

I may be wrong though.

Yeah, listening to sports talk radio here, especially in french, is an exercise in knowing your limits of anger and outrage. Many many francophone fans think it is their right to have a team STACKED with french-canadians, even if it means paying them twice what they're worth and shunning all "anglos", russians and players with "undesirable" origins.

As a huge Habs fan who has to deal with these so-called fans wanting to ruin the team, I sometimes think we have the worst fans in the league. Just look at what they're doing to Carey Price. They've started to deny any of his talents while pushing Halak to be our no.1 goalie. The way we're going about it, he'll get chased out of Montreal and tear it up wherever he goes.

Excuse my mini, unstructured rant.

/lots more where that came from
//ugh...

What, as opposed to a team full of Canadians, subby?

expobill 2009-07-01 01:26:35 PM
-1 subtard, especially on CANADA day!

Good salary dump for the Rangers. However, I HATE Sather for letting Colton Orr go. You suck so much Sather >:(

I miss Mondou, Trambley and Houle line

The link was probably only greened when the mods realized it WAS Canada Day.

/Montreal is in Canada still, right?

Lately I've been seeing him at F St Station here in Anchorage. He went to high school with one of my friends so we've had a few drinks with him. I couldn't get over how short he was, especially next to my buddy who is 6'5"

FTFY, especially in light of the Brashear signing. So glad we just signed the psycho who broke Betts' face in the playoffs. This is just the worst first day of free agency ever. :(

This would be an excellent point if we were talking about MLB or NFL. However, Dallas and the Rangers are not really that tough as far as hockey markets go when compared to ANY of the Canadian cities.

Scott Gomez traded to a Canadian team, ensuring he will never again hoist the Stanley Cup

As opposed to playing for the Rangers, where I'm sure he would have won like eleventy billion championships.

Habs just signed Jaro Spacek to a 3 year deal.

They still have a block of cheese you can pick from for free?
Cook in front of you? An old chef there was great.. made a good pasta and scallop dish.

I almost had a drunk friend take a bite right off of that block once... good times.

The cheese is still there. Its funny watching people towards the end of the night take slices out of that thing.
