Slowly but surely, Utah is joining the land of normal people. Now get your bar laws in order.

Why would ANYONE go to a college that restricted ideas? College is when you are SUPPOSED to have stupid ideas, moronic world views, and absolutist opinions. It's when you become a socialist, an anarchist, a Methodist, or a nihilist. It's when you read Ayn Rand and go to poetry slams. It's when you experiment with lesbianism, vegetarianism, drugs and social unrest.

Then, when you grow up you can look back and chuckle at what a douche you were, but you've learned to look at things from another perspective. If you skip that CRUCIAL period in your life, you never learn to reconsider your own arguments.

The college pays for a good perecentage of the tuition for you. You know those annoying tithes they ask for in the LDS church? Some of it goes to the students tuitions there. It's great education on the cheap.

/ Not BYU student, Sis and Dad graduated from there. The other sis and bro graduated from the U of U... The football games gets so amusing sometimes.

No. Not it's not. It CAN'T be a great education if ideas are blocked. Look, you may calculus, electrical engineering, and biology English literature, but college is a hell of a lot more than what you learn in the classroom.

The academic concepts are not blocked and you can do whatever you want off campus as long as the administration doesn't find out...

You know what's the usual route for most people that live here? First, they attend UVU (previously known as UVSC) where there is little rules about student conduct and after they get their associates, then the students apply to BYU to finish up the bachelors, masters and PHD's.

/P.S. There IS a sexuality section at their library. It amused me when I found out. Then again, you have to request permission to access it.

To lighten up the mood - A joke!

How do you tell a if a BYU student is smart?

If the lips don't move when they read to themselves.

What the hell? YouTube barely even has any porn. Most of it gets deleted immediately. If you want to block "dirty"* sites to maintain the virtue of your users, I could suggest a whole list of sites much worse than YouTube.

*I'm not a religious guy, but why is it a "sin" to look and lust at naked people? Weren't Adam and Eve naked? Isn't our naked body how "God" made us? Didn't "God" build into us the innate desire to procreate? If I'm going to procreate I'm going to need to see some tits and pussy. I don't do it in the dark.

The reasoning I was brought up by childhood is follows this reasoning:

"Natural man is an an enemy of god, Natural man is temptation, and Satan is the one that tempts you... If you allow temptation around you, you allow the influence of Satan. Satan's influence compells you towards his carefully laid traps to draw you down into hell, that your soul may join his everlasting damned tormented company."

This logic has drawn so many ridiculous conclusions - Such as avoiding non-members as if they're minions of satan, That flambeed desserts are the same as alcohol and that near-beer is real beer.

I have even seen Root Beer forbidden since the name contains the word beer.

Bikinis, short skirts, excessive makeup, replacement swear words, more than one earring, fake tattoos are avoided.

Even halloween was twisted into 'cute' costumes and corn mazes instead of horror-laced parties dressed up like demons and sexy she-devils.

Can you tell I hate my childhood?

Why ban anything when every student there is a spy for the church? They'll just get turned in by their roomate if they're looking at something they're not supposed to. The Mormons must be the most faithless of religious followers.

How can you claim to have any faith when you are never alone and always being watched to make sure you don't 'screw up'? Faith untested is nothing but bullshiat posturing.

Actually, usually the roomie spies first in order to blackmail that the roommate may too do what he wishes - He would be an idiot to report the incident to the authorities. I got adept at this.

Reminds me of an old joke...

How do you make sure your mormon friend doesn't drink all your beer?

Invite another mormon :D

Interesting, He's referring to married men. I wonder if single guys can fantasize all they want?

/ Besides, the adultry commiting thing? That applies to dressed up people as well. That's more of a personal action than nudity.

Yeah, that makes no sense, because aren't you always tempted by you own spouse to have sex? And isn't procreation what God wants? By suddenly it's a sin to give into that temptation?

As I said, I'm not a religious guy, and I don't know about the Bible, but that shiat illustrates why I don't adhere to it.

Elder Bednar has warned, "A young man or woman may waste countless hours, postpone or forfeit vocational or academic achievement, and ultimately sacrifice cherished human relationships because of mind- and spirit-numbing video and online games. As the Lord declared, 'Wherefore, I give unto them a commandment ... : Thou shalt not idle away thy time, neither shalt thou bury thy talent that it may not be known'."

You should carefully avoid getting so caught up in video game playing-particularly games that are offensive to the Spirit-that you lose sight of that which is of greatest worth.

That's the amusing part - "That's the spirit of god compelling you, that's not sin. This is fully sanctioned by god to forth and replenish the earth."

Now they will know why one of their professors "retired".

Steven Earl Jones is an American physicist. For most of his career, Jones was known mainly for his work on muon-catalyzed fusion. In the fall of 2006, amid controversy surrounding his work on the collapse of the World Trade Center, he was relieved of his teaching duties and placed on paid leave from Brigham Young University. On October 20, 2006, he announced his retirement. He holds that the World Trade Center was destroyed by controlled demolition during the September 11 attacks.

"Vice President Dick Cheney's popularity has hit an all-time low, with recent polling by The New York Times and CBS News suggesting that he has replaced Dan Quayle as the most unpopular vice president in recent history.

Two polls taken in May and June reveal an erosion of Mr. Cheney's base of support - seen in both his job approval rating and his favorability. Just 28 percent of those polled in June approve of the job Mr. Cheney is doing, while 59 percent disapprove - a reading similar to that of President Bush. (In July, 1992, Dan Quayle's job approval rating reached an all-time low with 63 percent of the public disapproving of the job he was doing as vice president.)

The highest rating for Mr. Cheney was 56 percent in August 2002. Mr. Cheney's favorability among Americans has also suffered - it fell to 13 percent in May, from a high of 43 percent in October 2000.

The polling shows that he is even having trouble among his conservative base. Just 31 percent of Republicans and 26 percent of conservatives say they have a favorable opinion of Mr. Cheney. And 47 percent of conservatives questioned say they approve of the job he is doing, while 40 percent disapprove."

Keep in mind, when cheney was visiting, that was in 2007. His approval rating was 13%

LDS people on sex:

I live less than a mile from BYU's main campus, but have never been Mormon. I have some LDS friends who told me that they actually do a thing called "soaking," which is basically sticking the peen into the vagina and not going with the motion of the ocean, but rather just sitting there (like the Great Salt Lake) until it gets soft.

I don't get these people.
