The Gordie Howe Hat Trick 2009-06-28 12:36:26 PM
For such a testero...terstor...testist...For such a male-dominated sport, that is certainly a shot to the nuts to be replaced by a woman.

He'll never be able to walk into a bar south of the Mason-Dixon line again.

Read the article. Dale Jr. would leave the main Hendrick org to run a satellite team with Hendrick's full tech and support, just like Tony Stewart is doing.

the main reason why Dale Jr. wanted DEI is because he wanted to run his own team.

I said this several time, but Dale knew that DEI was going to die without him, and it's come to fruition.

Dale's master plan is for DEI to blow up, and then he'll buy what's left and turn Jr. motorsports back into the true DEI, the way Dale Sr. wanted it.

This. Danica coming in and running a full Cup schedule is farking suicidal. She can't even win in IRL, why the hell would she be good in NASCAR?

The smartest move is Danica to be in Nationwide for a season. It'll sell tickets, and get her experience.

This is a late parrot [TotalFark] 2009-06-28 01:01:16 PM
She will never be able to handle 500 laps at Bristol.

If I were advising her, I would tell her to take the 3rd car Gnassi wants to run in IRL. If she ever wanted to win the Indy 500, This is the logical choice. Wait two more years in IRL, for the economy to fully recover, then jump to NASCAR.

Holy crap, that's awesome. Weber always reminded me of those two-faced douches who are all smiles for the camera and total d-bags behind the scenes.

The question is, who did he get into a confrontation with? Was he drunk? I need more details.

Seriously, getting rid of Weber is the first step to upgrade TNT's race coverage.

Exactly. I remember one race where a manufacturer's cars were so far out ahead, they started stopping the race part way through for mandatory yellow flag stops so all the cars could bunch up again (and no it wasn't the infamous Brickyard tire race, it was another race a couple of years before). I stopped watching seriously after that.
This "sport" is a complete and utter farce.

If you think NASCAR is just driving, you're an idiot. Have you ever driven at speeds reaching 200 MPH for four hours at a time? It's physically and mentally taxing. Drivers can get severely injured during wrecks and can even push themselves past the breaking point. It's a sport, without a doubt. Also, it's way more sporty than baseball.

Looks like the 18 got impatient on a restart and the 1 got punted into the inside wall and back into traffic as a result. I want to like Kyle Busch, but when he does stupid shiat like that....

I don't think it was entirely Kyle's fault. Everyone kept checking up and he had nowhere to go.

Also, the race has been called and Logano gets his first win. Good for him, I guess, but I'll be more impressed when he wins one legitimately.

It was just racing - Jr farked up on the restart and spun his tires. Kyle hadnt expected it and tried to dodge Jr and ducked into what looked like a opening but it was too tight.

Neither was wholly at fault but both apologized to Truex and anyone else affected afterwards. All Truex saw was what looked like Kyle getting froggy so he blamed Kyle and obviously he was frustrated at a good day turned to crap.

hey, that WAS a legitimate win. His team took a hell of a gamble staying out and praying for it to get called. Letarte, Gordon's crew chief named it the "pit call of the year". Strategy plays into these things too and dealing with weather is part of strategy.

a fuel mileage win or a rain call win still goes in the books as a victory and a driver has to be good AND lucky to get his car to the place where they can take advantage of such situations.

Good pit strategy is important and all, but he wasn't competitive all day (he had just gotten the lucky dog before his stop, I think). Gordon probably would have caught him quite easily had it gone green again. I'm just saying that I'll be more impressed when he wins one by driving well and being up front.

Yeah I cant understand why she would come over since shes not really in contention for much in IRL and now that a real star has come back shes fallen further back. The problem with IRL is that they have just a couple of decent drivers that will contend and she still cant win every week. Shes average at best and in nascar she will get farked up.

OH and nicksteel, her photos are heavily photo shopped shes not nearly that attractive in person and some say she leans to the muff diving side.
