I thought John Kerry was advised to stop making jokes?

Didn't you know subby? Republicans aren't happy unless they have something to whine and biatch about, no matter how petty or miniscule an issue it is.

Lionel Mandrake [TotalFark] 2009-06-27 03:32:12 PM
Conservative women rushed to Palin's defense after the Kerry joke. Ethel Fenig at American Thinker wrote, "Tee hee! Letterman, Kerry -- all afraid of strong, independent women! Kerry should find a job with David Letterman -- who would miss him?"

Damn the GOP and their hyper-sensitive Political Correctness!!!

/Kerry's "joke" was lame and Palin's response was lame. They both sound like dumbass 8 year olds.
//no offense to 8 year olds.

Kerry is actually a pretty amusing guy. At least he tries.

Kerry's joke was funnier than Palin's.

exick [TotalFark] 2009-06-27 03:49:30 PM
The first time was funny and the second one was even funnier and more truthful.

Doctor Funkenstein [TotalFark] 2009-06-27 03:50:20 PM
"We stand corrected, the truth is every Democrat hopes Governor Palin is in the public eye for a long, long time, especially on the 2012 presidential ballot," Kerry spokeswoman Jodi Seth says.

That's awesome. If Palin now comes back with some lame joke about him living off his wife's fortune and he counters with a retarded baby joke, I think Fark will have gained a full physical form in the real world. C'mon, Kerry, ask her what's the difference between her mouth and vagina. Do it, man.

Donald_McRonald 2009-06-27 03:53:27 PM
Your Faith is Creepy: Kerry's joke was funnier than Palin's.

Pslin as a meta-joke is funnier than most things, though.

I am so saving that quote in my profile. Congratulations, Dahmers.

They should both just be quiet and do thier jobs. But that's probably too much to ask...

I would have thought so.

You gotta love it when the official "retraction" ends up being more of an insult than the original statement.

Of course, it's subtle and a bit tongue-in-cheek, so will probably sail over the heads of the frothing battalions of outraged "conservatives."

Technically, he would have to start first in order to stop. Since there's no evidence John Kerry has ever actually made a joke, he was, instead, advised to stop attempting to make jokes.

Lolthien 2009-06-27 04:47:37 PM
I thought it was funny. So there, and honestly, if the GOP would lighten up a bit, they'd get a HUGE popularity boost.

Mr. Coffee Nerves [TotalFark] 2009-06-27 04:50:05 PM
The only thing that truly offends Sarah Palin is people not paying attention to her.

When she loses her re-election campaign next year she's going to go even crazier trying to stay in the public eye until she runs against Sen. Begich.

SomeoneDumb 2009-06-27 04:58:11 PM
Roughly how much base-pandering can be permitted these days? While I realize working for the public good is naive, I'd really like someone, anyone, in public office to spend more time doing that than devoting their time to being re-elected.

It's no wonder they don't have enough time to read the bills.

Conservative women rushed to Palin's defense after the Kerry joke. Ethel Fenig at American Thinker wrote, "Tee hee! Letterman, Kerry -- all afraid of strong, independent women! Kerry should find a job with David Letterman -- who would miss him?"

Hmm... The same Ethel Fenig that wrote:
Think of advantages to society in this Heinz-Kerry arrangement. It keeps Kerry safely off the streets and out of the beds (presumably) of Hollywood actresses.

Ah, yes, that Ethel Fenig. Defender of strong, independent women by saying, "your husband (presumably) isn't cheating on you. Tee hee!"

And don't forget this gem:
There are, in America, many women who gained some vicarious hope from the Heinz-Kerry link -- especially all the post 55 ones who despair of ever (re)marrying.

Yes, defender of strong, independent women by saying that they can gain some hope for remarrying, even if they're old, because only then will their life be fulfilled.

Your Faith is Creepy: Kerry's joke was funnier than Palin's.

Ummm, not so, judging by the audience reaction.
The GIs laughed both loud and long to Palin's quip.

And, let's face it, Kerry DOES have a long (equine-type) face.
It sounds like getting crushed during presidential election cycles cost Kerry his sense of humor.

//As for Kerry's "joke"?
//"Someone I disagree with should only disappear!"
//"Oy Vay, what a Comedy God I am!"

But, by all means, let those who hate Sarah Palin with a white-hot rage
continue explaining to the sane among us how EXTREMELY funny wishes that
she appear on milk cartons are to them -
because SHE'S such an example of hatred and intolerance, right?

Raiden333 [TotalFark] 2009-06-27 05:01:24 PM
John Kerry and Sarah Palin hate-farking each other.

You're welcome for that mental image.

That would be true if it were subtle. But it's about as subtle as a lead pipe. But not as funny.

For such a "strong independent woman", Sarah Palin sure likes to play the whiny victim.

Most candidates for higher office have a bandwagon.

Kerry, on the other hand, had a Habitrail.

Haha! I can't wait for this petty asshole to run in 2012. I can only hope she won't be too busy defending herself against bloggers photoshopping her head on to pornstars and the evil "main stream media" to continue making a complete retard out of herself. Goshdarnit.

The lady reminds me of the mother from Bobby's World. Anyone remember that lady? God, the voice makes me want to claw my eyes out, Fer cryin' in the mud.

THIS

Only one of them will be running in 2012, though. Dems make a mistake once and are done with it. Republicans insist on ramming their collective failures down our throats over and over.

ChickenTits: I can only hope she won't be too busy defending herself against bloggers photoshopping her head on to pornstars and the evil "main stream media" to continue making a complete retard out of herself.

Personally, I hope that, at some point in her campaign, she just goes full retard and adopts a sexy-kinky librarian 'stance', complete with FOX news cleavage, inappropriate crotch shots, and a slightly messy "I just had hot sex!" hairdo.

Note to Palin. Stop being so coy! Stop flirting with us about your 'assets.' Let it go ... get crazy!!

That'll get her the erection in the end.

I mean, really, Obama one by popularist appeal to the masses "you call can have cake!"

Palin should just drop her pants now and than and one up him, and say "you all can has sex!"

Kinky.

wait wut?? wtf?

Having seen Kerry pitch a baseball, the guy probably doesn't have a good idea of what "strong" means.

King Something [TotalFark] 2009-06-27 05:41:46 PM
Two things:

First, John Kerry is the [Barack Obama Of Bowling] of comedy. Seriously, guy, don't quit your day job.

And second, the very idea of Palin/Malkin bondage yuri is incredibly hot!

That is all.

No doubt. Its telling that he is more electable than anything the Republicans seem to have out there right now.

If the Democrats had had the balls to nominate Howard Dean, he could have won.

But, then again, because he didn't win, Dean got to put the strategy in place that got Obama elected, and I think Obama is a better President than Dean would have been. So I dunno. It's kind of a wash.

He should know, he can't make jokes. They don't work.

His speech at the DNC was good. He should stick to that style.

RemyDuron 2009-06-27 06:06:59 PM
Oh, and you can't really say "What, you don't have a sense of humor?" when she replied with a joke. Jesus John, you're letting Palin make you look like a moron, that's sad.
