I thought that rushing into billion dollar decisions is what caused the majority of the problems in the first place.

Well... that, and sheer farking stupidity.

Diogenes [TotalFark] 2009-06-26 03:06:26 PM
I can't think of one good reason why a week would be so much of an imposition.

Weaver95 [TotalFark] 2009-06-26 04:00:05 PM
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D- Nev.) will not commit to giving senators and the public a full week to read and review the final version of a health-care reform bill before he holds a final vote on it.

Oh yes, I can just feel the change oozing out of D.C.

Spanky_McFarksalot 2009-06-26 04:25:58 PM
Not to worry, farkers will be along shortly to tell us why this is ok.

PirateKing 2009-06-26 04:27:08 PM
As much as I think we desperately need health care reform, any politician who votes for this bill without reading it needs to be removed from office. Harry Reid can suck my hairy reed.

paygun 2009-06-26 04:27:10 PM
Hey just FYI, we don't have any say in our government anymore.

GaryPDX [TotalFark] 2009-06-26 04:27:20 PM
Well, isn't that special. Just shove it down everyone's throats blind, what the hell.

Lost Thought 00 2009-06-26 04:28:11 PM
Obama needs to take a stand against this piece of shiat. Prove he isn't just full of hot air. Veto the goddamn bill if they pass it without sufficient review.

Apik0r0s 2009-06-26 04:29:01 PM
The Change I was hoping for was that Republicans no longer had power.

I got it.

Now you tards can sit in your Idaho compound and watch the USA join the rest of the civilized world. And nobody gives two runny shiats what you think.

That's Change I can believe in.

Rockdrummer 2009-06-26 04:30:12 PM
The house dems just passed cap and trade - despite Obama's campaign pledge (lie) your taxes are about to skyrocket.

/Sad

Spanky_McFarksalot: Not to worry, farkers will be along shortly to tell us why this is ok.

It's ok because the Democrats, not the Republicans, are pushing it through. We can trust them Democrats right? Isn't that the line?

Will you commit to give Americans at least a week to review the full conference version of the health-care bill before it's voted on?"

paygun: Hey just FYI, we don't have any say in our government anymore.

That is actually pretty much how it works and is supposed to work. We vote in who we think will look out for our interests and make good decisions. Then, they make those decisions. Tell them if you agree/disagree if you feel like it, but they're under no obligation to listen. Vote back out of office if necessary, lather, rinse, repeat. Did you not know that? Also, isn't this statement kind of a non sequitur?

Yes, anyone who's upset by this must love Republicans, and could never be upset they want to spend over a trillion dollars without properly overlooking the legislation.

randomjsa 2009-06-26 04:35:14 PM
Considering the massive abuses of power already going on under the Obama administration, should it come as any surprise that the body of government that should be screaming bloody murder about all of his 'czars' is ram rodding things through as well?

It's almost as if they're terrified of what might happen if anyone had a chance to learn the details.

vernonFL [TotalFark] 2009-06-26 04:35:29 PM
Have you ever read one of those bills??

Bor-ring!

The reason I vote for a representative is so that they do the work for me. They read the bill. They decide whether its in my best interersts. Delegate. Its a verb and a noun!

Americans should know that those Members who vote for this climate bill are voting for what is likely to be the biggest tax in American history. Even Democrats can't repeal that reality."

That's change in which we can believe, right? Look what happened the last time they rushed a $787 billion bill through. Biden was along a few months later admitting that "everyone was wrong" about it.

But hey, it's just money, huh? We can print more.

yes, because it is impossible for anyone to be involved in the conference, and use their staff to read and understand the bill. No one knows what's in it, right? Bullshiat.

what they want is a week to wharrgarble and misinform in and effort to kill the legislation. To do that they need to provide political cover. For that, they need atleast a week.

Yes, the government should pass legislation without us knowing what it is. That's exactly how it should work. If we don't like it, we can always vote in someone else who will do the same damn thing. It's somehow better if we get screwed by someone new.

Bunker stocking is underway. Adding more mags and ammo soon. I'll be on 160 and 80 meters in the winter, higher bands in the summer, I'd appreciate it if more people would get their comms gear in order so we can get some report of what's going on outside of our own AO.

Is it a "failed point" that I stated that they rushed a $787 billon stimulus through that the Vice-President recently said is failing because "everyone guessed wrong?" Maybe from your twisted perspective, but most of the sane folks I know would disagree with you.

How about reading the farking article before shiatting out your puerile bullshiat replies? Specifically read the part where he says "We are going to follow the rules and do the best we can so that the new rules we have for transparency will be effective."

The best thing would be to allow five days to read the 1000+ page document.
