What have YOU done in the last 34 years?

I've perfected a far less complicated masturbation ritual.

That's great. I love the part where William Shatner kidnapped the couple on vacation.

Oh wait...

That's amazing (and stupid) and amazing (and stupid) and amazing (and stupid) and amazing....

The part of me that likes stuff like this just beat the crap out of the cynic that thinks the guy could have found something better to do with his time.

That was gay.

That's impressive but not as good as my construction, which was truly portentous.

Gotten laid.

/Does this smell like chloroform to you?

Man, I would give ANYTHING to see that reporter accidentally fall onto the sculpture when he put the ping pong ball in there.

Maybe this (new window) is what you want.

Heh, they stole the idea from the Wall Street Journal this week.

Ripley's is running out of main exhibits because it's opening too many museums. Ripley's didn't offer $40k out of the gate -- they started at $10,000, doubled, doubled again.

/the more you know

artificialraven 2009-06-21 02:02:44 AM
In response to the headline, had many failed relationships for 15 years. I'm not quite "get off my lawn full of crabgrass and weeds" material yet..

^ ok fark that, wrong thread.

/one beer too many.

Robert1966 [TotalFark] 2009-06-21 02:08:03 AM
Contrary to the headline, that appears to be a model of San Francisco, not the city itself.

/I'm sure you did catch that, but people do tend to confuse modeling and modeled in contexts such as, say, neural networks.

DigitalCoffee 2009-06-21 02:10:14 AM
Is it time for a colorful metaphor?

/didn't see any nuclear wessels made of toothpicks

No, no. It still works for this headline!

yes but does it mean anything? is it important?

/and what's with the sunburn?

This guy lives around the corner from me. The sculpture is awesome to see in person. He let's little kids put the ping pong balls in which always scares me.

The same guy also has one of the larger Christmas displays every year, he lives on kind of a circular court so he lends his extra decorations to the neighbors and it makes the whole circle fun to visit.

I laughed, but then I felt really awful for the guy that built it!

cgobla3 2009-06-21 02:45:44 AM
These kind of people are not mentally stable I would guess he probably has some obsessive or bi polar disorder.

Probably only I think that's worth saying, and you only laugh because you're well aware of that.

Just about EVERYTHING I have ever done was more worthy of my time than building a model of a city out of toothpicks or matchsticks or whateverthef*ck.

fanbladesaresharp 2009-06-21 04:09:54 AM
It's neat. It's interesting. But I'm farking going to bed guy. Put it somewhere else for say.....September.

/model railroader
//however if you can build that with Godzilla, then we'll party.

xofa 2009-06-21 05:48:31 AM
I love that CNN has titled the page "Breaking News Video." I mean, it was kinda cool, but "Breaking News" is a bit over the top, isn't it?

/CNN sucks.

BikerRay 2009-06-21 06:46:26 AM
I think I'd grab the 40k before some kid or reporter tripped into it.

Jamieboy 2009-06-21 07:26:04 AM
Pretty cool. I guess he could have done worse things with his time in the past 34 years.

from the voice over in video:

"The balls go all the way to the bottom"

Wow. lmao.

memebot_of_doom 2009-06-21 07:48:27 AM
Well it kept him off the streets.

Can you pull out one toothpick and make the city fall down?

That was cool..... until the hat.

The hat confirmed he's a nutter.

Where would one wear such a monstrosity?

You know, you might be a bit odd if friends toss toothpicks instead of rice at your wedding.

You beat me to it. My first thought was, "surely it takes waaaay more toothpicks to build all of San Fran!"

The first person to say he has "too much time on his hands" gets beaten to death with a clock after having their hands removed at the wrists...
