I've eaten at that Dennys. They put onions in my brother's blueberry pancakes and the service was awful, so we never went back. I guess that's just as well now.

Let me get this straight
1) There was a 9:30 AM 'armed takeover' of a Denny's on a Saturday.
2) There were 100 people inside and for the sake of discussion say they were all eating a $5.99 Grand Slam with no extras.
3) Being a Saturday this was the largest breakfast shift, and the Denny's had few receipts from earlier customers. (say 40 x $6 = $240)
4) The customers had enough money to pay for their meals, and maybe twice as much in their wallets.
5) Thus the most money could be made by robbing all the customers of their breakfast money and wallets (100 x $6 x 2 = $1200) + $240 = $1440.

I'm not sure if any of the robbers thought this out.

Seriously, had I been there, that would've been me. I would've been huddled by the POS with two other servers, making wisecracks about all the a-holes in there. I may have even drawn a little cartoon about it. Pretty much like every other shift I have ever worked, really. It makes me curious, who was this mystery smarta$$ server?
