what happens? you get a band that's 1/2 as talented as it should be. yes half, because Jack White isn't that amazing. and "the edge"...well, the oxygen he used up in whatever room they were in could've given a slight boost to Page or White to maybe pump out the tiniest oomph of awesome.

Jack White is an absolute sledgehammer on guitar. If that's not your style... so be it. Not everybody likes Jimmy Page's gunslingin' or Hendrix wizardry either. What Jack does nobody else can do.

I'm not sure why The Edge is there, though. He should be hiding out with John Mayer somewhere.

i think that's kind of an insult to Mayer...

i'd rather see someone else in this particular trinity besides The Edge, but it makes an interesting contrast: two gifted artists (suck it, haters) and more or less a knob twiddler.

Say what you want about the Edge, White, or even Page, but none of you idiots or even anyone in the world thought to use a guitar and some effects (mostly for the Edge, a bit for Page and even less for White) to make those sounds come out of an amp. STFU and give them each credit for doing something 99.999% of the world couldn't and more importantly didn't do for continuing the guitar as a means of expression. As a guitar player for the last 25 years, this movie looks awesome.

Although the poster that said to include Slash has a decent point, I would say he furthered Page's thoughts, where the Edge kinda opened horizons with effects more than anyone else, especially considering he started in the early 80's. To knock any of these guys is pretty stupid considering 95% of the crap that is out there that passes for art.

Good point, but the vast majority of even music lovers from the 80's couldn't even name the guitarist from PIL, where even suburban moms might know of the edge. Not to defend the edge as being a more innovative artist from a musical standpoint, but as far a influencing more people, he is hard to discredit.
