As if Clear Channel and their ilk would ever allow the people to decide, instead of the A&R guys who are paying them off.

And the radio is in the hands of such a lot of fools

Wait, wasn't there just recently a court decision that record labels could allow or deny who broadcasts their songs? Isn't this something similar or are the users limited to what songs they are allowed to play?

Unfortunately, due to licensing restrictions we are not yet available in your country. We understand that you are currently in United States

FAIL.

Spotify free is currently in an invitation-only beta, which means you need to have received an invitation token to access the service

Not invited?

You have two options. If you just can't wait, you can pay to become a Spotify premium member and get immediate access

Otherwise, sign up here if you would like us to send you an invite as soon as we are able to.

Pandora and Slacker Radio are indeed the wave of the future. I listen to NOTHING else.

Can't hear much anyway over the sound of how awesome I am.

C'mon, you're so misinformed. A&R guys dont pay off radio stations to get their bands on the radio. It's the "record reps" that do that. Please.

So will it be 15 second spurts of nickleback, aerosmith, and kanye west?

I can see a few groups of people voting for their songs and dumping the rest (all at the same time) making it really annoying.

Yep. Don't think they're coming back, and even if they do, I don't think I'm jumping back in.

Sucks to be you.

I went to the Spotify website, downloaded it with no invite and am now listening to pretty much any tune i want.

Oh and Pandora fails for people outside the US (like me) and I didn't really like it that much either as you can't decide what music you want to listen to.

I started using Slacker a few weeks ago. Does anybody who has used more than one of these services know if one is really better than the others?
