Agree. Also a reminder of why govt shoudl never bail out, or cut a special deal for, newspapers. Better to see some new things rise out of the ashes. And they already are, on the internet, which is a far better vehicle for (not) news than anything else.

Corruption isn't a problem with Republicans or Democrats at certain points in time.

It's a problem Congressmen have all of the time. This red/blue crap doesn't make a lick of difference when it comes to corrupt politicians.

Actually, if you and your young, stupid fark friends actually studied the history of " ethics violations " you'd know that it's the Republicans who are first to turn on their own and throw them out for bad acts.....Democrats tend to surround the wagons and defend their own no matter how crappy or evil they are.

I know that facts are like the plague to people like you but you may have to actually do some homework at some point in your life.

The AP in all its glory. Long on loaded questions, very short on answering them.

A corrupt political party? In the United States??? That is just plain silly. If you projected the amount of corruption, the Repulitards and the Dumbocrats would be be pretty much neck and neck. Their level of corruption cancels each other out.

So, no, they are not corrupt.

For example: when Mark Foley was caught sexting underaged boys, and Dennis Hastert immediately turned on his own and throw him out for bad acts, and not surrounding the wagons and defending his own no matter how crappy or evil they were...?!?!????

Sorry to burst your little Imaginationland bubble, but what ACTUALLY happened there is that Hastert blamed "the liberal media" for Foley being brought to rights for sexting kids. And then, as this Fox News article clearly states (new window):

With just a month before elections, Republican leaders work to defend House Speaker Dennis Hastert over his handling of the Mark Foley scandal Sunday

Oh, I'm sorry! I'm sure you meant to say REPUBLICANS tend to surround the wagons and defend their own no matter how crappy or evil they are.

Because as you clearly see from the evidence from THE REAL WORLD, this is what happened.

I guess you Republicans will always be making excuses for child abuses.

Want to know how the [f]right[ened] wing can win back voters that live in the real world? Try LIVING IN THE REAL WORLD, because your lame no-value statements are easy to myth-bust, and they just end up as reasons for us to remind the voters just how scummy you guys really are. In this case: perverts, apologists for perverts, and liars.

Have you noticed ANYTHING since the current party took control of both houses? They've been in power since 2006, spending has increased by 25% while revenues have stagnated. They've taken no stand resolve any of the messes the previous administration made, hell the even helped make a few of them.

Yeah, I know, but but but bush.

The House Ethics Committee is looking at this? Talk about the fox guarding the henhouse.

This issue is better addressed by citizens and good-government organizations. Earmarks and campaign contributions are both public record. We need to follow the money and throw out crooks.

At least when it came to McCain and a few AP writers it was pretty blatant. Not sure if I'd say that about the whole organization, though.
