I went to high school with a guy that got nicknamed "Bonero" after he popped a boner in the showers after gym.
Quite a sight.
Guys were throwing gear at it, snapping it with towels, etc.
Poor farker never lived that down.

FTA: 'Bruce Springsteen astonished the Bonnaroo crowd with a passionate three-hour performance, offering sweat and rock 'n' roll to inspire, he said, in "hard times."'

When a performer announces he is here to inspire you it means that he has an inflated sense of his self-worth.

When I was a big fan that kind of stage talk claptrap was ok but 30 years later he isn't fooling anyone but himself.

What an embarrassment.

And Calbert?
What can I say but 'nicely played'.

I got two lots of news for you, good and bad.

The bad news is there's nothing but horseshiat for you to listen to.

The good news is there's three hours of it.

Similar situation at my school, only the nickname was Boing.

Yeah, but it was My Morning Jacket, so...

(I keed)

I don't care who you are or how much I love your band - Anything longer than 2 and a half hours is usually reeeallllly pushing into the uncomfortable zone. Even amazing concerts that you don't really want to end get unbearable after that time period. YMMV, but 4 hours is for the 80's cover band on friday nights at the local pub.

I really don't think anyone would force you to stay any longer than you liked. Some of the best shows I've ever seen have been 3 hours or more.

Most of my favorite shows have been probably no more than an hour long. Of course, I typically go to smaller club shows, not stadium shows where you pay $100+ for worthwhile seats, so I don't ever feel like I'm somehow entitled to more show. And I really don't think I'd even enjoy 3 hours of any band -- I mean, I don't put on 3 or 4 of my favorite band's albums and listen to them all in a row. I'd go insane.

Hmmmm. I think he's been over-rated for many years now but back in the mid 70s/early 80s his shows totally kicked azz. And as for being ferried in limos and helicopters? Meh. He's got to get in and out somehow.

Fark all of you, I love Springsteen. Good for him, I don't know many other rockers his age that would do a 3-hour set anywhere. It's a shame I wasn't able to go.

Or then again, maybe he's just trying to give his paying fans their money's worth (and given that his ability to still sell out huge venues night after night after night, I'm thinking he's "fooling" a lot more people than himself).

Granted, saying that doesn't make you nearly as cool and above-it-all.

Welcome to the world of Fark. Where the Beatles and Springsteen are overrated, and Rob Zombie is a musical genius.

When I peruse the local convenient store and see aisles of nothing but energy drinks of caffeinated concoctions of sugar and carbonated water, with Rock Monster Throttle printed on neon colored cans I think "Jesus, are there that many mouthbreathers out there drinking this crap?" Then I think back to a greenlight on Fark with a link to an online article claiming that The Dark Knight is a better movie than the Godfather, and most of the posters actually agreed with it, and it all makes sense.

I remember the Rob Zombie line from another Music thread recently, it was probably you. I've never seen him praised on Fark, why you drag him into these threads is beyond me.

"More" does not mean "better" Here, let me demonstrat for you using pictures of Pierce Brosnan's wife.

Here she is with less:

And here she is with more:

So some aging Jersey arena rocker leaving his mansion on a private jet to play for 3 hours of small town/broken dream cliches about "Bobby" and "Mary", not a "good" thing

Well....to be fair, TDK is a way better movie than the Godfathahahahahahahahahahahaha! I almost made it through with a straight face!
Now, if you're comparing it to Godfather III, then yes, it is a better movie....

Only for the jersey few, he was a hack then and is a hack now. And you cant be the working mans hero when living in luxury, I guess that little fact escapes him and his fans.

Nobody with half a brain thinks DK is a better film than the godfather, you may be thinking of the batman fans who bombarded a site that temporarily made DK the number one rated film and people on fark sarcastically agreeing with it.

Hell DK wasnt even the best film released the year it came out so it couldnt be better than godfather.
