There has to be a name for this syndrome by now -- seeing a clearly innocuous object and assuming it is a bomb because it resembles a Hollywood caricature of a bomb.

I've left some real bombs of my own, but they usually require deviled eggs and draft beer the day before. Will have to try carrots next time.

The ø is Norwegian. The two languages are similar, however.

For instance, if I wanted to tell you that your mother sucks bear penis in the forest in Norwegian, I would probably say Din mamma suger bjørnkuk i skogen. If I wanted to say the same in Swedish, it would become Din mamma suger björnkuk i skogen.

kleppe: The ø is Norwegian. The two languages are similar, however.

The letter ø is also found in Danish, as are the letters æ and å. And the three languages (Swedish, Norwegian and Dansk) are so similar that they are really more like dialects of the same language. Icelandic, although similar generally, diverged much earlier than the "big three", and as a result is unintelligible). No idea about Faroe (another related language).

For anyone who is interested, Finnish is entirely different than Swedish, Norwegian and Dansk; it's a "Finno-Ugric" language. It's closer to Estonian (maybe intuitive if you look at the geography) and Hungarian (probably not intuitive).
