Saw him solo, acoustic, at the Satyricon in Portland about ten years ago. He was sick with a cold, but played for two or more hours. Didn't know who he was at the time and was blown away.

Great show.

Saw him electric at the Paradise in Boston a few years back. Awesome show.

I love Husker Du, but I will say that Workbook is an absolutely amazing album, which Bob has yet to surpass.

Saw him solo acoustic in Hoboken a few years ago. Until he got bored and pulled out the Stratocaster. That man can make 1 guitar sound like 3.

Saw him at Maxwell's in Hoboken a year or so ago. Solo electric. If not for the annoying dancing drunk f*ck near the front, it would have been a flawless show. Bob even called him out. Alas, security was nowhere to be found.

Not ripping anyone here but Mould's and Husker Du's appeal is just lost on me.

And, yeah, I feel the same about Elvis Costello.

Hm. I thought Copper Blue was an outstanding piece of work as well. Apples and oranges to some extent, but still a great album.

Workbook is the shiat. Such ridiculous production on that album. Agreed, by far his best.

Well it looks like I'll be making a road-trip to Chicago. I broke out Workbook last night for a friend going through hard times. I am always amazed by how brilliant the songs are.

Beaster was my introduction to Bob Mould... awesome, angry stuff.

I always wondered why he didn't have broader appeal, except for his punk roots. In any event, I might see y'all in Chicago.

Then why post in a music thread?
