At least when the pornstar is "faking" at what they do, they are screwing someone else.

Democracy in action, nothing finer.

I would vote for Tom Hanks. But, considering that he has more power over the nation than any single governor, it's kind of pointless for him to run. But then again again, if any governor thought about how much power they have compared to tom hanks, they would be smart little power hungry people and become Hollywood producers instead.

It is not democracy if you must raise $10 000 a day to be "credible."

Would you prefer only the independently wealthy be able to run for office?

You're right! I never saw it this way before, but the system must be fine if it could be worse!

Eh, you don't HAVE to raise cash to spread your message. You can always blow the station managers to get them to air your advertisements for free.

/There isn't an unequivocally "fairer" method that I can think of

I would prefer televised and radio debates involving all candidates and mandatory free airtime for presentations on policy as part of their FCC licensing. Same amount of airtime for all candidates. $100,000 each for ads in public funds. But then, what would I know? I'm just an interested registered voter who's concerned with free and fair elections.

Uh, he did that already and lost to The Body.

No cable advertising, then? No Billboards, fliers, literature, get-out-the-vote, or anything else? Wouldn't that be depriving the populace of the complete information required to make fully informed decisions?

i heard billboards with less than 20 words on them and 30 second tv spots are good ways of distributing meaningful information

He should stay in the Senate, where he does less harm.
