Thanks, Subby. That was awesome.

/I have a couple of CDs I got signed by Belew at a show in Memphis way back when, but never got to see TH live.

Sure, and you can click on the YouTube sidebar and watch the entire performance. It seems to be one solid TH performance

He was Frank's before he was Crim's.

I've never heard Adrian Belew referred to as belonging to any specific band.

The version of "Drugs" from the same show is the stopper.

Not much of a fan myself - think the band is great and Bryne is a pompous jerk.

Having said that I have an un-opened, never played copy of Stop Making Sense on vinyl I would be glad to sell you and yes, I'm serious.

Another thanks to subby. Very enjoyable.

From the bars of Covington, Kentucky straight to Zappa-Bowie-Heads-King Crimson. That's quite a ride.

Subby fails. Adrian Belew is not "King Crimson's Adrien Belew". He is a musician.

//Big KC fan here
/// Big FZ fan too
//minor Belew fan.

I really like the version of "cross eyed and painless" from this concert, and one or two others [do they have the whole show on youtube? i remember looking one time and it was only a few tracks.]
great to have footage from this tour, though!!
nice subby. nice.

You made me very happy with this, subby.

Thank you! 8)

NICE!!!! Hadn't seen this before. Thanks subs. The "solo" sounds like a solo Asrian did on discipline, not which song though...maybe indiscipline?

I have mixed feelings about Belew's solo albums and his stuff with Crimson but other than that he is the bomb on both guitar and vocals.

City of Tiny Lites (new window)

Also, has anyone heard Everything That Happens Will Happen Today? Byrne can really sing and i feel bad for not realizing it earlier.

Check out his band The Bears, especially their eponymous debut. Awesome guitar pop, and some of his best songwriting. A little bit of The Beatles, Big Star, and Cheap Trick.

/yes, that's a Mort Drucker cover

You left out NIN.

Belew is the bomb - and I don't just say that because I am a fellow Kentuckian - the guy can get an electric guitar to make almost any sound without using a whole assload of digital effects. That is probably why Reznor uses him in the studio so much, he's a one-man short cut, a swiss-army-knife guitar player who was making Nine Inch Nails-ish sounds two decades before Nine Inch Nails even existed.

Yes, really. I'm not selling it for $5 mind you, but make me a reasonable offer let's see if we can do this thing.
