well they've disappointed a few people, but isn't that what friends are for?

it should be white and have "JACKET" printed in the back with a light-blue stripe going across it

But this one is much nicer

PIL served an important place in music, much like Tom Waits' Island catalog, as a band you had in your record collection to impress people with that you never actually listened to. (or just quote a lines off of one of their two popular songs that people actually recognize).

One of the more enjoyable lines to say to anyone who claimed to be a huge PIL fan is say "Oh really, what's your favorite deep cut?" and watch them stammer and stutter (Note: this doesn't work nearly as well on the internet when people have Google at their fingertips).

"EASE"

....I don't ever recall liking it to impress anyone other than myself though.

I do in fact admit this though,
for the first few years I only REALLY liked "Metal Box"(Second Edition)when I was drunk.

My favourite album is "Commercial Zone". Much better than "This Is What You Want This Is What You Get". The version "This Is Not A Love Song" off there is one of my favourite PiL songs. Plus "Bad Night" and the acoustic version of "The Order of Death".

I listened to Death Disco for almost an hour when I was riding the bus one time. Rewound the tape and started the song over and over and over. Completely zoned out on it.

What he hell does this have to do with Kelly Clarkson??

Third_Uncle_Eno 2009-06-06 12:22:58 PM
I listened to their first album, didn't like it very much.

Listened to "2nd edition", which was better, [interesting songs, great bass and drums, sometimes i couldn't stand Lydon's singing] but didn't want to plunk down $15 for used vinyl lol.

I have "flowers of romance", which is pretty neat and weird but i rarely listen to it.

I listened to "ALBUM" it was a huge departure music wise, slightly more commercial, even Lydon toned down his vocal craziness. i liked it.

This is Kelly Clarkson
Your life ain't nothing
The human race is becoming a disgrace
The rich get richer
The poor are getting poorer
Fascist, chauvinistic government fools

//Just quoting PIL lyrics, even if drunkenly mistakenly in a Kelly Clarkson thread, automatically makes me deep and profound.

/// Thus, merely quoting Lydon allows me the right to refer to people as "sheeple".

////Duuuude, You're like all ...sheeple.

saw PiL once, and Johnny was wearing a white zoot suit. actually looked pretty sharp. lame concert however.

/not that that has anything at all to do with the topic at hand

Of course there is always:
I know your window and I know its late
I know your stairs and your doorway
I walk down your street and past your gate
I stand by the light of the four way
And watch them as they fall, oh baby
They all having their heart attacks
They stay at the carnival
But they'll never win you back

But that was covered by Rod Stewart and probably shouldn't count.

I always preferred:
Uncle Bill will never leave a will
And the tumour is as big as an egg
He has a mistress, shes Puerto Rican
And I heard she has a wooden leg

If you truly own records just to impress rather than listen to, you are a music snob douchebag.

/Glad to see you were looking for pics of a chubby Kelly Clarkson too.
//Am also a music snob douchebag.
///Own Throbbing Gristle but only listen to Something Came Over Me.
