From Wikipedia:
Brian Setzer, and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. In addition to his accomplishments as a saxophonist and composer, Butera is widely regarded as the inspiration for the vocal style of fellow New Orleans-born jazz singer, Harry Connick, Jr..
Burn in Hell, Louis.
Just kidding. He was an astounding player, but an even better arranger. When I was studying musical composition in college, he was referred to many, many times.

Thought all those guys had passed on.

Louis Prima and Big Joe Turner for some kick-azz fun music.

Even Lebron James is derivative of this guy.

I used to visit my grandpas grave almost daily when I was back home to hang out a bit and take a few tokes. And afterwards, I'd head just a few rows over to Louis Primas. Those were such nice days.

Yoda doing Louie Prima?

That clip was somewhere between 'terrible and surreal'.

Sam Butera opened for Van Morrison in San Francisco in the late 90s. Several of us wound up talking with him after the gig and got in the limo with him (and about 5 good looking girls) to go to a club afterward.

Down to earth guy who loved to entertain.

He reached the top and had to stop.

Me too. I have a playlist on my iPod that has Prima, Butera and the Rat Pack. Great stuff and it fits in so well for most events.

Louis and Sam enjoyed life, that's for sure.
