Bob Dylan is a band now?

Gee, I wonder which Spacehog song they're going to choose.

That's not that bad of a list. I'll have to keep that in mind to maybe get when it comes out.

Oh, and in before Guitar Hero haters.

Damn, which Rammstein song are they going to do?

The MUSE song needs to be Plug in Baby. Nothing else will be acceptable.

Will we finally get Stairway?

The Peter Frampton song HAS to be the live version of "Do You Feel Like We Do"

They had me at Billy Squire...

Hmmmm. Might have to actually buy this one.

Link says that the Petty song is Running Down a Dream, Dylan's is All Along the Watchtower, Stones' in Sympathy for the Devil, and Wonder's is Superstition. Those would be cool. And it would hurt like hell, but here's hoping the Rush song is 2112.

yyz would be cool for a full band song.

Guitar Hero has already done that song and I think it'll be on the "Guitar Hero Greatest Hits" game they're bringing out

Wow..if you can sing along like Rock Band and GH:World Tour, I'm buying.

Queen and David Bowie is obviously "Under Pressure". Wild Cherry has to be "Play That Funky Music". Love and Rockets? Talk about obscure. Probably "Arias and Symphonies". Spacehog? Even more obscure. Probably "In the Meantime", maybe "Mungo City".

Public Enemy Featuring Zakk Wylde

This I gotta hear.

boring. I wanna play Guitar Hero to feel like a rock god, not to feel like I'm in a washed-up 90's cover band

Yeah, I was tossing all the Rush songs already done through both Guitar Hero and Rock Band, which leaves out all of Moving Pictures, Closer to the Heart and Working Man, I think. Spirit of Radio or Freewill are the most likely songs, IMO.

Wait.. what? Love and Rockets is obscure???

I hope it's Ball of Confusion.

could be something more modern too, like Far Cry or One Little Victory.

I want Spindrift if they do modern.

Haven't been playing as much GH/RB lately, but this looks promising. I was kind of disappointed with World Tour (the style/format more than anything), maybe this will do better.

j4x: The MUSE song needs to be Plug in Baby. Nothing else will be acceptable.

Seems like the most obvious choice, and I'm not quite sure whey they haven't done it yet.

/would also accept New Born, Thoughts of a Dying Atheist, Cave...lots to pick from actually

Either Plug in Baby or Invincible.

Guitar Hero 2, if memory serves. It's also available as Rock Band DLC, although the way they do it in Rock Band is a little stupid (you can't choose to play the song ever if you have a vocalist in the band, instead of them sitting idle during the song).

I'm going to have to wait and see the actual track list before I make any decisions on this one. The list of artists isn't bad, but it'd be nice to know if the songs are ones Rock Band hasn't already included on disc or DLC.

My friends and I had the full band setup to play with for the past year, and we put a lot more time into Rock Band. Rock Band's songs meshed with our taste in music better. The difficulty, though, was probably the main driver - Guitar Hero is sadistic on the higher difficulty levels, and the note charts don't always seem to follow what's actually going on in the song. Rock Band is still challenging on the higher difficulties (for everyone but my friend who can gold star most of the songs on any of the instruments), but after some practice we were able to eventually pass the songs instead of failing out halfway through.

That said..."Under Pressure?" YES! That one track is almost enough to sell me on the game.

/provided I have a job by then
//and money
///anyone want to hire a fresh-out-of-college engineer?

Glad to see a contingent of Muse fans.

Think about how incredible Thoughts of a Dying Atheist would be

DaNightTripper [TotalFark] 2009-05-31 03:28:49 AM
I hope the Dire Straits song is Sultans of Swing. Can you imagine trying to do that solo in expert mode?

Entity79 [TotalFark] 2009-05-31 06:27:10 AM
Holy crap. KING CRIMSON.

If this is 21st Century Schizoid Man (and only the full version would do), MANY controllers will be broken trying to do it.

Doctor Jan Itor 2009-05-31 08:27:19 AM
Seems like all these bands are already available in Rock Band DLC.

Still no King's X in any of these games. Pissed.

/Queensryche? Please?
//Meshuggah?

Blowmonkey [TotalFark] 2009-05-31 11:43:26 AM
I have 3 of the Guitar Hero games, and I inevitably end up playing Rock Band instead after a few weeks. I don't know what it is exactly about the Guitar Hero games, but I just don't like them as much.

I'll still probably get this though, I just wish I could understand why I don't like it as much.

Doctor Jan Itor 2009-05-31 04:46:45 PM
I just played through GH:Metallica last night and I have no desire to play it again. I much prefer Rock Band. When I play RB I feel like I'm rocking out in a band. When I play GH I feel like I'm playing a video game with rock music in it.

I think it's GH's cartoony animations and their poor feedback when I miss notes. I can't tell when I'm missing and what I did wrong. RB also does better tracking of the songs, they play closer to the real instruments.

orangeglacier 2009-05-31 05:31:38 PM
Hmm, about 20 bands I like a fair amount to a lot. If they have good song choices, I might get this.

King Something [TotalFark] 2009-05-31 05:57:56 PM
Needs moar cowbell.

/and also The Rime
//sure hope the Rammstein song is track 9 from Rosenrot
///¡Te Quiero Puta! is the title of that 'love' song

You and prettymuch everyone else. It's general consensus that Rockband 1/2 is a stronger title than GH : WT but you'd never know it from the flow of teenagers and frat boys straight up denying that Rockband is better.

I guess if you think music from the 60's-80's was shiatty, you might like GH better.
