(New York Daily News) Asinine Rangel advises Obama not to go to Harlem without ID because of mistaken shooting of lone, plainclothes cop brandishing weapon. Which is, of course, very similar to a Presidential entourage   (nydailynews.com) divider line 63

He should advise Obama not to go to Harlem without four rent-controlled apartments. It's hard for a wealthy, powerful person to find several cheap places to stay in New York, at least on short notice.

Oh for fark's sake, Rangel.

Rangel's a moron in the same vein as any other career Congressional farkwit, regardless of party. But WTF is up with the NYPD? Seems like every other week, I'm hearing stories about them gunning down random people.

It was a bad joke. He isn't quite that retarded.

Amadou Diallo and Patrick Dorismond tend to agree. Abner Louima and Michael Mineo suggest that Obama not drop the soap near members of the NYPD, either.

Wearing his doo rag and carrying his basketball as he is prone to doing. Man, what an asshole.

Shut up Rangel, you cock.

Just advise Obama not to wear a badge, and he'll be fine in Harlem.

Wow seeing as how Harlem is probably one of the more gentrified areas of NYC I don't see how Obama is going to get into any trouble.

That is unless a condo falls on him.

Because if there is anywhere Obama would not be recognized, it's Harlem.

Personal experience. More gentrified if compared to da Bronx or some of the more fun areas of Brooklyn, sure. Compared to the rest of Manhattan, like say Alphabet City?

It is pretty diverse here. I live at 129th. I was just wondering what was suposed to happen above 140th. street?

Looks like the fat fark Sharpton is getting into this now. Of course a White Cop shooting a Black Cop by mistake has to be racist.

I'm no fan of the NYPD but somehow this looks to me like a simple tragic mistake. I feel bad for the family and the cop who shot the other cop.

sycraft 2009-05-30 08:14:36 PM
Well conveniently for Rep. Retard here, Obama will have ID: The Secret Service. They will be happy to tell anyone who asks who Obama is. They will also be happy to defend him with their lives, and deadly accurate marksmanship, if necessary. Yes, that includes from cops, and from crazy congressmen too.

Talk about bullshiat grand standing.

Hey now there's an idea, maybe this moron should try and prove how unsafe it is, and run at Obama with a gun, a fake one would work fine. This will accomplish two goals:

1) Prove the president is safe, even in Harlem.

2) Get rid of a moron windbag in public office.

We need an anti-asshat test for anyone who is running for public office because guys like this are too stupid for words.

USPS calls my neighborhood Hellgate, which I actually kinda like. What I've noticed is the money spread up from 110th, more down but some up from 125th, with allowances for the A-D, 2-6 lines. It's not what happens north of you but what has not (yet) happened: gentrification.

Mistake maybe, but a majority of those mistakes are white cops shooting black cops. I think we're up to maybe 25-30 incidents, I lost track when it hit the 20's.

I would advise the good people of Harlem not to continually re-elect this bloated, corrupt douchebag back to Congress, where he sits like a gorged tick, sucking our money and pumping his poison into our politcal bloodstream.

Well, I would, but my congressman is Barney 'Hot Bottom' Frank.

/At least I don't vote for him.
//Even when he runs unopposed.

Major Strasser: How about New York?

Right. Just keep telling yourself that.

In the meantime, remind us: When was the last "tragic accident" in which a white cop shot another white cop here in NYC.

We'll wait...

Brilliant!

Nowadays, we'd be warning Strasser to stay out of Chicago, Detroit, and most of Southern California, as well. And parts of San Francisco, but for different reasons...

Wow, and people wonder why black people don't trust the police. Here's a Black police officer, who was gunned down by a white police officer. Probably because the white cop, didn't believe that a black guy with a gun, could actually be a police officer, especially at the age of 25. This is the problem with the old saying, if you can't beat them join them. If you join them, they'll still end up killing you.

Sharpton reiterated his call for a federal investigation to determine if race was a factor in the shooting on a rainy night along 125th St.
"There's too many questions that need independent, objective answers," Sharpton told a crowd of about 250 people.
"No justice, no peace!" the crowd chanted.
Edwards was shot three times as he ran along the street, gun in hand, chasing a suspect who had broken into the officer's car, police said.
Authorities said Officer Andrew Dunton identified himself as a police officer before firing the fatal shots.
/i>

Lets see, rainy night, you see a man running with a gun in hand. You identify yourself as a policeman and the person doesn't reply.
Seems to me like a tragic accident. With a big department like the NYPD they should probably apply some type of recognition codes like.

Cop A: "Police freeze"
Cop B: "I'm a cop you dumbass!"
Cop A: "Ok my bad"

instead of

Cop A: "Police freeze"
Cop B: /Keeps running
Cop A: "bang bang"
Rangel: "Racism!"
