Radio station WKCR has been playing all Benny Goodman for the last 2 weeks and will end June 1st for a total of 365 hours. In chronological order. From the 1920s to the 1970s.

Happy Birthday indeed Jazz man.

"Seven Come Eleven" is one of my favorite songs, made me respect the clarinet.

Also a famed classical player - he comissioned and premiered Copland's Clarinet Concerto.

I love Sing,Sing, Sing but my personal favorite is his jazz version of Loch Lomond.

My all-time favorite version of "Sing Sing Sing" (and "Loch Lomond" for that matter) is from the 1938 Carnegie Concert. Truly the major constellations came into alignment that night.
