Ted Rall is just Ann Coulter with a slightly different shtick.

That guy is so stupid it's painful.

Now this might actually be fun to watch.

Rickerkioz [TotalFark] 2009-05-30 12:42:06 PM
Wow...you'd think that a concentrated amount of Wharrrgarbl like that would've created its own singularity

006andahalf 2009-05-30 12:48:35 PM
.and leave who in power? Biden and Pelosi? Sounds like you haven't thought your cunning plan through, mac.

006andahalf 2009-05-30 12:50:52 PM
Oh shiat, green. The wharggarrbl may grow so concentrated as to spawn its own chaos god.

/I tend to think that often
//one of these days it might well happen

GAT_00 [TotalFark] 2009-05-30 12:52:48 PM
Oh this is going to be fun to watch. So, between Gingrich yesterday with his Civil War comment and this, we clearly need a term for going beyond WHARRGARBL. Anyone got an idea?

If Ted Rall hasn't managed that already, it isn't going to happen now just because he's redirected his fire.

I can keep hoping. I'm already at the stage of envisioning what physical form it would take. And who it would eat first. The gods are fickle, they often enjoy the blood of their own adherents.

Maybe one of the Modmins has the flu & can't go outside to enjoy this nice late spring day. That's got to be one of the more coherent reasons for wanting to kick over that beehive.

Either that or he/she has discovered some way to convert butt clenching/panty wadding (on both sides of the aisle) to energy & is conducting grid experiments before the summer's air conditioning load gets real heavy.

It's increasingly evident that Obama Geithner should resign.

Weaver95 [TotalFark] 2009-05-30 01:12:48 PM
Obama is useless. Worse than that, he's dangerous. Which is why, if he has any patriotism left after the thousands of meetings he has sat through with corporate contributors, blood-sucking lobbyists and corrupt politicians, he ought to step down now - before he drags us further into the abyss.

At least Ted Rall is an equal opportunity idiot. he was just as stupid during the Bush years.

nvmac 2009-05-30 01:14:13 PM
So the current Administration is trying to deal with an extremely difficult problem in the open and this is bad for some reason.

If tried in American courts, wouldn't they all walk? I'd imagine all of them have had their rights violated.

It's easy to say it's wrong. It's hard to come up with a plan to fix it. I'm sure what Obama wanted was to continue this draconian practice, but seriously, what are the options?

/I'm actually asking the questions
//not learned in the different laws that at work here

dude - it's Ted Rall. I don't think even HE believes what he writes about.

Ted Rall, meet John Scalzi.

Your next president is going to disappoint you. Barack Obama does not fart cinnamon-scented rainbows. He is not trailed by angels and unicorns. Reality does not reshape itself to his wishes. Dude's a human being, and a politician, and he's going to have to work with other human beings who are also politicians. Per point 2, some things you want him to do he won't be able to do, and some of the things you want him to do he won't want to do, so they won't get done. He will make mistakes. He will make errors. He will be caught flat-footed from time to time. He will be challenged by antagonists, foreign and domestic, who will have an interest in seeing him faceplant. He will piss most people off. His approval rating will drop below 50%. He is going to disappoint you. Get used to the idea."

I, for one, am utterly devastated that Obama has failed to fulfill every campaign promise and solve every major national issue in his first 5 months as president. It's inexcusable.

When I go to the Wendy's drive-thru and order a cheeseburger and fries, they are able to perform the cash transaction and hand over my food in about 90 seconds. Maybe Obama needs to study how Wendy's does things.

"It's increasingly evident that Obama should resign."

Yeah, but he's a limited free agent, so we at least get a chance to match the money.

Barbigazi [TotalFark] 2009-05-30 01:39:28 PM
It's kind of refreshing to see this guy go so batshiat insane at both Democratic and Republican presidents. He should probably be locked away in a small room, but consistency should be encouraged.

that was pretty bad. But he DID get national attention for it, which I guess was the point.

Not even half way through the first year. I love this shiat.

Translation: It's been a bit more than 100 days and Obama hasn't turned this country into a manifestation of a liberal blogger's wet dream! Chimpeach!

Sorry Teddy, the adults are busy trying to slowly improve this country while not alienating so many people that the Republicans have a chance to take over and screw everything up. Again. This is called politics. I believe the president is loosely associated with the practice of politics. You may want to do more research on this matter.

If the writer made any cogent points, we could discuss them. As he didn't, well...

Jesus, this reminds me of the British Labour Party in the 1980s. Maybe I was wrong and the "they're all the same" arguements are right?

sounds like a good opportunity for you to step up to the plate and tell us what you think Rall got right.

outatime 2009-05-30 02:53:54 PM
It's increasingly evident that Ted Rall is a loony.

I guess some people really thought that Obama was going to turn to Bush and Cheney directly after his inauguration and say "Whoa, whoa, whoa, where do you two think you're going? We've got a war crimes trial for you!" as the MPs haul them away screaming in front of the television cameras. Or that he'd say "Guess what? The troops all start flying home tomorrow! They'll all be here by Christmas!" or "Hey everybody, dope's legal! Pass the Big O a blunt!"

In other words, it sounds as though Ted Rall wanted Barack Obama to be as cartoonishly left-wing as Bush was cartoonishly right-wing.

basically, Ted Rall is a liberal/lefty/loonie version of Ann Coulter only far more bitter and not as good a writer.
