When asked by one customer how his presidency has gone so far, he said it has been about what he thought it would be like.

"More problems than I thought, because we didn't know the economy was going to collapse," the president said while chucking some peanut shells.

He didn't know? Really?

aegisalpha [TotalFark] 2009-05-29 04:55:25 PM
WTF Obama, no grilled onions?!

Dammit, now I want a burger.

Loves the 5 Guys (and I love saying "Gee, I smell like I had 5 guys"). But for the President? I'd get a good bar burger at some bar in Georgetown if it were me.

Then again, he is rather down to earth. So much for the elitist crap.

brigid_fitch [TotalFark] 2009-05-29 05:03:07 PM
Hmmm, a 5 Guys opened nearby a couple of weeks ago & I haven't been by yet. Big, greasy burger w/ketchup & mayo, lots of pickles.

/No...gotta be good. Poker tomorrow.
//Gonna fill up on pizza & beer.

Always hand made. And the fries are awesome. They post where "today's" potatoes came from. But basically, a real decent burger from a no frills type operation.

I had In-N-Out for lunch today, so I'm really getting a kick out of feeling Presidential.

Mayor McCheese has quite a rack.

gilgigamesh 2009-05-29 05:40:03 PM
The president ordered a cheeseburger and fries, and once again he dissed ketchup. He picked jalapenos, tomato, lettuce and mustard for his burger.

Uh oh.

Looks like Sean Hannity has his material for the next week.

And there's the Sotomayer connection! It *IS* all a big plot!

No more ethnic food for me. Clearly eating it makes you into whatever ethnicity produces it.

I find this just all sorts of awesome. I like that the president just kind of goes out from time to time, gets real food, talks to people.

Most presidents do that. Clinton spent more time in McDonalds than the Oval Office.

I think it's just a Chicago thing. We They seem to have a problem using ketchup as a condiment. They love their greasy fast food and will put everything on it. But mention ketchup and it's game over.

I miss Phil Hartman. )^: I remember his Bill Clinton out on a jog, grabbing hamburgers from random people and taking bites out of them.

FrancoFile 2009-05-29 06:43:57 PM
I miss going to Ollie's Trolley for greasy burgers and those heavenly spiced fries.

(and going to GHW Bush's favorite Chinese place on Rte. 7 for the green beans.)

Comrade Mayor McCheese, if you please.

IIRC he had a skit where he spent the whole thing in McDonalds, answering questions and stealing food.

I remember when he spent 6 weeks hammering McCain for unforgivably saying "the fundamentals of the economy are strong."

Taking bites out of burgers, not people.

/god help me I'm stuck at work listening to a person being a total blowhard, talking endlessly about her amazing life at the poor sap forced to sit at her figurative knee

Clinton probably spent more time in Monica Lewinsky than he did at a burger joi-

Hmm. I can see a connection.

The man likes his burgers... nothing wrong with that.

I love it! I love how nonchalant he is about it. Like, "Hey, I knew what I was getting into. A bit of a surprise but that's what i was signing up for."

And there HAS to be a caption contest for that pic! I'm dying to find out what farkers would come up with.

I KNEW there was a reason I liked Obama so much. I like hamburgers, too! With that much in common, I truly believe he represents me! Well, that and the fact his liberal hearts bleeds as much as mine. :)

thenateman 2009-05-29 06:48:47 PM
According to the White House press report, there was a huge scream from people outside when the president and company pulled up.

What is a "White House press report"? Is it like a press release? I can't imagine writing a press release about people screaming when they saw my client.

he sucks at everything else though :)

Until the last couple months of the campaign, *nobody* knew that the economy would collapse. They expected that we'd have a recession, that times would be tough for a while, but nobody expected a collapse.

ItchyMcDoogle 2009-05-29 06:49:08 PM
Too bad I had Burgers last night id be heading to my local 5 Guys right now for a burger with everything and a big ass bag of fries cooked in peanut oil.
