(Washington Post) Interesting The first new Peaches & Herb album in 25 years is out, but in the meantime, Herb's been parking cars in DC. Not because the record company hosed him; he just likes the work   (washingtonpost.com) divider line 14

Is "parking cars" a song reference I'm not getting? Because it's a long way from being an armed, deputized court security officer for the US Marshals.

They are both near the top of the list of the nicest entertainers I've had the pleasure of working with.

\their crew rocked, too.

I shake my groove thing in his honor. Sounds like he's a down-to-earth non-train-wreck kind of a guy.

Peaches, on the other hand...

FTFA: Feemster says he doesn't need the paycheck anymore; he insists he has enough money banked that he doesn't need to work at the court, especially after winning a series of lawsuits over unpaid royalties. It's just that he likes to work. Imagine.

So... a pop star lived frugally, saved his money, kept a regular day job, stayed out of trouble, and went back to recording/touring whenever he just felt like it and not because he had umpteen brazillion owed in unpaid taxes?

What farking planet am I on today?

No shiat. USCA CSOs are GS-11 or GS-12, which means something around $60K a year in the Washington DC area. Plus a bunch of holidays, excellent (and very cheap) health insurance, and a metric busload of other benefits. All for a job that amounts to either standing next to a metal detector, or sitting in the back of a courtroom.

Usually CSO service is restricted to retired law enforcement officers, so I'm not really sure how he got that job. In any case, he did well for himself by getting it.

And now I've read the article, I see that he was a police officer for a while. So there you have it.

Glad he's doing ok.

But the writer? What a farking hack.

'#1 with a bullet' because he carries a gun?

A 'holiday' because the record was coming out?

There was more but I refuse to go back scan that smarmy, smug condescending POS writing

Was a friend of the family back in the early 80's, he always was a nice guy from what I remember.

I can't wait to finally hear them do "fark the Pain Away" as a duet.

I saw Peaches play in Toronto last week, and let me say, she's the kinda biatch I wanna get with. Her backing band was Sweet Machine, really good. I met her mother up in the balcony before the show, she said Peaches is a really sweet, funny person. I believe her!
