The difference is that during the 80s and most of the 90s pop singers had a short shelf life, now they just keep going therefore, prolonging the suckiness of their music. If this were the 80s britney's career would have been dead after her second album. They seem to be scared to cast off crap artists and move on, its the reason for crap record sales the past decade.

Not a big fan of her music but its nice to see someone sing and no have her voice auto tuned to hell, I think most of the singers today if just given a mic to sing cold would sound like complete shiat.
