With that many czars running around czaring, I think it's high time we had a czar czar. Or czomezing.

Vivek Kundra, "Tech Czar":

I don't want to buy technology the old way," he said. "Three years ago, D.C. schools spent $25 million to deploy a human resources software program. It failed, and not a single person was fired," Kundra said as he rushed between meetings. "And they had the audacity to ask for more money. How is that an intelligent use of taxpayer money?"

I like this guy already.

If I were speaking to a person in Latin, that would be good to know. Unfortunately, I'm not aware of ANY culture that pronounces Ceasar with a "K" sound, with the exception of the Germans. But they've always been culturally sensitive.

For some reason, the country that bills itself as the greatest super democracy/republic of all time wants to give out a lot of titles derived from the name of a despot famous for killing the last super greatest republic of all time.

Weird country we have here.

Of course they all have an idea of what they are doing. The problem is how that idea turns out in the real world. Right now DeParle hasn't had much of a chance to do anything except talk and draw up plants that may or may not be implemented. Complaining about her is like complaining about the poor wheat harvest after you just planted the seeds.

She still quotes the bullshiat "47 million uninsured" statistic so I question how much of a clue/honesty she has. Time will answer that question.

That is the number. There are 50 million without insurance. You can argue semantics, but the number is real. I don't even see where that article denies it.

The article says the Czar is a technocratic who uses technocratic solutions for questions that have no technocratic answers. You know, like a TotalFarker. it's just someone who uses industrial catchphrases to bumblefark around the media and restructure a few office building layouts. Some dumbshiat who has an MBA and reads Wired and thinks that IT is capable of lowering the tax money spent on their department.

Your definition is nowhere in the article.

I guess if you're a moron who equivocates every important position with a fictional '*** czar' title you could see it that way.

Just more crap flinging with no alternatives proposed. I suppose instead of finding qualified people and placing them in important positions (to be subsequently called czars by morons) we should ??? Do nothing but put unqualified people in unimportant positions? Yeah, that'll get stuff done.

Yep, while you could possibly argue for throwing out 10 million illegals their non insurance does negatively effect our hospitals because they clog the emergency rooms, etc. The other large group they want to throw approx 20 million out is people who are temporarily uninsured. You know what, its a rotating list for sure but its still 20 million people that if they had an illness right now (statistically many of them will get sick during their transition) would be bankrupt.

Sum Dum Gai, sorry, you struck a pet peeve. I hate it when people say "this culture" as though THIS culture is somehow so much more ignorant and depraved than all others. The fact seems to be that the pronunciation of the word changed, in English and most other languages as well. We're not butchering the pronunciation, that's just how things go.

No - one of the *few* horrible ideas from Reagan. It wasn't necessarily a horrible idea at the time. It was just twisted into one by a wannabe authoritarian.

Just because some other cultures also butcher the pronunciation doesn't mean we're not.

A name isn't just another word, it's a person's name. It's not just an ambiguity in pronunciation like po-tay-to versus po-tah-to, there's an authoritative source for how the name should be pronounced, and that's how the person themselves would pronounce it. A normal word can change pronunciation, because there's no unambiguous "right answer", but in the case of a person's name, there is.

There were good ideas that came from Reagan? For the country I mean, I know the Republican party has done well with some of his stuff. The Republicans got a decent idea, that if you put a folksy guy up and commit most of your crimes outside of Washington and act like you're a goddamn hero for committing them, you don't get Nixon'd.

Bless you, sir. Bless you for completely ignoring how Reagan turned this country around. He was instrumental in reinvigorating this country, economically, socially, and militarily. Don't forget, it was at the end of Carter's term that an article in Time Magazine suggested that the presidency had become too big for one person.

Never mind all that. Just keep thinking what you are told, and never ask why.
