Someone needs to forcibly remove Kanye's capslock key.

Look, I give Lil Wayne credit for expanding his horizons musically. He's obviously an open minded guy and likes to experiment, even at the peril of his credibility to his hardcore fans.

But I've seen him live. He likes to *wear* a guitar. I think - THINK - he may have played a note on it.

Even if you meant it metaphorically, Kayne, come on. He is not Hendrix.

Lil Wayne has far more cultural influence today than Hendrix ever did. I hear Lil Wayne on the radio all the time and my friends all talk about him and I just heard of Hendrix.

I don't know much about Thom Yorke, but I'll say that the world doesn't really need a new Roger Waters. The old one, in my opinion, was all played out along about the time he decided to start working on The Wall.

The brilliance that flows out of Radiohead is far more of a collaberative effort than 1970s era Floyd was.

That becomes readily apparent when you listen to Yorke's solo stuff.

one could probably say the same about solo Waters and post-Waters PF.

I would say there was much more of Floyd in Waters solo stuff than in Floyd itself after he left.

"Pros and Cons" comes to mind.

I guess I interpreted your original post more in terms of quality as on both Yorke and Johnny Greenwood's solo works you can clearly hear the roles they play in Radiohead, but neither work is nearly as good as their collaborative work (though Johnny Greenwood's Bodysongs album is pretty good, The Eraser not so much). Same could probably be said for Waters solo stuff and Gilmour Floyd.

Kanye West is an arrogant douche and I don't like his music.

BUT I respect the hell out of him for actually doing something creative with hip-hop, and helping to try to nail the coffin shut for gangsta-rap.

Yes, yes. I most certainly agree. The plenary genius of Radiohead is far superior to any collective effort in recent history. yes, yes. You appeal to my views and perhaps we should meet for a brunch and some mutual felatio?

That's either a really sweet troll, or you need to practice holding your breath by chaining some cinder blocks to your ankles and jumping in the deep end.

I actually agree with Kanye on a few of these. Funny, I'm so used to disagreeing with him.

Also, it shows a different side of him: Thom Yorke blatantly snubbed him, yet he still respects the guy and doesn't go on some tirade about how terrible Yorke is.

As much as I like Radiohead, I have to use this hilarious Noel Gallagher quote:

"Nobody wants to sit in a room with Thom Yorke on a piano complaining about how farked up the world is."

The Wall was one of the most important lyrical messages ever cut into vinyl. The reason so many people miss that message is the precise reason that Waters wrote it.
