Dammit, I like Spandau Ballet. And I'm 29.
So I guess it's my musical tastes that are old.
I think.
Hell if I know.

/now I want to listen to Chant No. 1

I just recently turned 28 and I like Spandau Ballet too. No, my musical taste ain't old (I also like Paramore, for example), it's just that some people have severe case of ADD and anything over 2 years old is OLD!!! That or lack of perspective to realize that not liking something because it's old is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard.

What? Liking Mozart makes one old too?

Yes, it does.
Liszt is what the young people listen to these days.

Oh yeah, Well I'm only 27, and I love Spandau Ballet. I fired the first wedding DJ I hired because he didn't know who Spandau Ballet was when I told him I wanted to play them. He thought it was some dance we wanted to do.

Back in the 80's, there were a collection of bands that sounded so similar that it was virtually impossible to tell them apart. You could have put Spandau Ballet onstage, swapped them out mid-song with Alphaville, knocked out the lead singer with a pipe wrench and replaced them with the guy from A-Ha, and had Simple Minds take a bow at the end- and the audience would never notice.

Fortunately, I sort of like the plaintive-white-guy-accompanied-by-synths-with-sustain-turned-up-all-the-way sound. UNfortunately, all my cassette tapes broke while I was trying to avoid the whole grunge era, so I had to move on to chick-power bands.
