Frusciante also has an active solo career, having released ten albums under his own name, as well as two with Josh Klinghoffer and Joe Lally, as Ataxia. His solo recordings include elements ranging from experimental rock and ambient music to New Wave and electronica.

Kilinghoffers there, that means that JFroo is not only knowledgeable, but on board with the idea

This could potentially be OK, but a real vocalist would help. AK can sort of rap, but I hate it when he "sings."

John's solo stuff is quite good. His latest album, The Empyrean, is a pretty Dark Side of the Moon-esque album; definitely worth a check out if you're a Pink Floyd fan.

John Frusciante is the only thing that makes the Chili Peppers listenable. The bittersweet, the soulful -- that's all him.

I agree. And I disagree. For my money, no matter what he does, "Could Have Lied" forgives all sins and misdeeds for Frusciante. That may be the saddest guitar solo of the 90s. However, Flea and Chad are a phenomenal rhythm section and more, and Kiedis has written some sick lyrics in his day. I like so much of what they have done when they aren't pussing out (Zephyr, Snow anyone?).

I was pretty surprised when I heard Frusciante was in on This. N.A.S.A. has some of the most out of left field colabs on their album.

Stop the presses! Rock musicians in LA are forming a one-off!

couldn't agree more with the frusciante love - the string he released in '04 was awesome. i'd highly recommend "DC EP" to the uninitiated - it's an incredible listen.
