So the Repubs actually managed to make this debate not about them (and Dick Cheney in particular). Amazing, and media is taking it hook line and sinker.

Pelosi knew about everything and gave it her OKAY.
But she wasn't involved and knew nothing.
Sounds like the biatch got caught and will throw anybody under the bus to clear herself.
All you lib farkers out there refuse to believe that dems were okay with waterboarding and that makes me giggle.

You must be reading a different site than me. All ever heard is prosecute whoever is involved. Most feel, however, that we should start with the ones who perpetrated it, rather than start with people who may have heard about it.

Bond says she's lying, she did hear about it... and says that the briefing material shouldn't be released. Mmmmmhmmm...

Torturing terrorists is peachy. Knowing about it is a high crime.

Republicans R SMRT!

The First 2009-05-15 03:19:05 PM
FTFA: Pelosi vehemently disputed Republican charges that she was complicit in the use of waterboarding, and she suggested the GOP was trying to shift the focus of public attention away from the Bush administration's use of techniques that she and President Obama have described as torture

Pretty much sums up the whole "witch trail" the GOP is going after.

Let's see, GOP knows they can't get the public's trust and win back seats with merit and responsibility, so why not make up some half-baked scheme to make the public think that Pelosi knew about this and didn't stop them.

I'm actually surprised the right-wing isn't suggesting that Pelosi was mastermind behind waterboarding and other interrogation techniques.

It's kinda pathetic that GOP and its supporters would continue to play the American public as fools.

DarnoKonrad 2009-05-15 03:23:40 PM
Pelosi has been the target of a campaign orchestrated in recent days by the House Republican leadership, which is eager to assign Democrats partial responsibility for the use of waterboarding - a kind of simulated drowning - in the Bush administration.

Is T-o-r-t-u-r-e so hard to print?

Miserable media. They are right this is orchestrated tho.

The First 2009-05-15 03:24:12 PM
Also FTFA: GOP officials secured the release of an unclassified chart by the CIA that describes a total of 40 briefings for lawmakers over a period of several years. Pelosi's name appears once, as having attended a session on Sept. 4, 2002

Pelosi's name appeared once. All the way in 2002, so that means what?!? That knew everything there was to know from that one meeting?

It's damned if you, damned if you don't with the GOP...

2. don't show up at the mtng, YOU DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE AMERICAN PUBLIC SAFETY.

Nanci Peolosi who is a DEMOCRAT from SAN FRANCISCO knew about the waterboarding and didn't go to every interrogation and throw herself in front of the water to save the helpless terrorist WHO KNOWS ABOUT A TICKING TIME BOMB and wants to KILL YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.

Really though, how many other congress people knew about this and didn't do anything?

/not suprised the GOP is attacking pelosi
//would be even less suprised if they knew about it also

pxsteel 2009-05-15 03:32:58 PM
This shiat again. Nancy Pelosi is lying through her teeth. If for some reason you think that she is not lying through her teeth, you are experiencing a reality disconnect.

If you listen to the actual audio of her statement (listen to all of it). It is very obvious that she is lying, my two year old is a better liar.

pxsteel: Nancy Pelosi is lying through her teeth. If for some reason you think that she is not lying through her teeth, you are experiencing a reality disconnect.

Then why not release the briefing materials? That would show she's lying, right?

Oh, wait, we can't do that. Because... uh... 9/11!

Three consecutive greenlights now on the GOP's attempt to distract from the war crimes committed by the previous administration by making a stink about what exactly the most impotent and useless speaker of the house every to hold the office may or may not have known.

Barely a farking word from the GOP when Bush and Cheney basically tore up the Convention Against Torture that patron saint Ronald Reagan himself personally fought so hard for, but as soon as it seems democrat might have known about the crimes committed by a GOP president it's all pitchforks and torches about what she knew and when.

How can these people even look at themselves in the mirror each morning?

Mitt Romney 8%
Rush Limbaugh 6%
Dick Cheney 4%

Love how the media is ignoring the facts that the torture started before congress was notified and the opinions written. and that Cheney wanted an Iraqi tortured to establish his false Saddam-Al Qaeda link.

all they can focus on is Pelosi.
