It's only evolution.

At least he's still alive.

three assailants brandishing knives emerged from the woods wearing black masks, gloves and pants.

I, for one, am relieved that they were wearing pants.

He could have fought them off if he were a better man.

Guess he shouldn't have left the porch. :-/

With all of that fun and excitement, why go home?

"F*ck if I know. Now if you excuse me, we have some music to record..."

He was saying Potato Wave.

Sad. In the end, they will be remembered for their insignificance. Perhaps had Jeff looked through the rearview mirror, he might have seen them, and avoided shedding blood. What bugs me is he was unarmed, he didn't even have a stupid mod. Not even a small knife, or a leatherman. He's lucky not to be comatose, or end up as a ghost. But it's hard to imagine people in hiding in low light, who cannot be seen from the porch. Sometimes, you have to hold on, though. Fortunately, he wasn't alone, but I figure he was devastated when the man took his passport, and off he goes with Jeff's ID. As the perps were leaving here, in the moonlight, leaving him with a potentially fatal wound, he managed to still be alive.

They were always the pussies of the grunge scene. It would never happen to nirvana, alice in chains, or soundgarden.

Back in 1994 I knew a guy who got

tattooed on his calf. (Just the stick figure not the words.)

I often wonder how he feels about it now.

This is pretty much a win for the thread. It also makes me smile and want to listen to Binaural.

Didn't think suicide and armed robbery were synonymous.

Yeah, he usually has a bottle on wine with him when he's singing. Weird.

Robbers are weak pussies. I hope they get anal and throat cancer. Yeah, both. At the same time.

Something similar happened to my former internship mentor at an Atlanta recording studio a decade or so ago.
Thugs in Atlanta know where all the studios are and they know that people with money go in and out of them at all hours.

All Apologies: Yeah, he usually has a bottle on wine with him when he's singing. Weird.

Sometimes you feel like beer, sometimes you feel like wine. Sometimes a gin and tonic, sometimes multiple shots of Jameson. But that usually ends up with mistakes being made. Sexy mistakes.

They must have been brandishing glorified versions of pellet guns. Must have felt sooooooo manly when they were armed.

AiC > PJ > Soundgarden > Nirvana

PJ gets the nod over Soundgarden based on longevity and the fact they are the best live band ever.

NASAM: JerkyMeat: They were always the pussies of the grunge scene. It would never happen to nirvana, alice in chains, or soundgarden.

Soundgarden > Pearl Jam > AIC > Nirvana

I'm going to be "that guy" and say these bands cannot be compared. I always likened the big Seattle 4 to giants/golems/dragons, etc. you'd find in some Gary Gygax tome, each with their own abilities. They were all hard rock but SG was bordering on progressive hard rock, Pearl Jam was often folky, AIC was always metal and Nirvana was punky. Probably easier to compare SG with Rush or The Police than to Nirvana. And can you really compare In Utero to Tripod or Vitalogy to Superunkown, all released about the same time.

That said, I think amazing songwriting and musicianship goes in the order: SG > AiC > PJ > N
Hype: N > PJ > AiC > SG

I bet members of each of those bands would agree, too.

zunkus 2009-05-14 02:17:12 PM
Personally
SG>PJ>AIC>Nirvana. PJ does put on a farking amazing show however, I've seen them 6 times and its always great. I hear they are working on a new album so I hope he gets better soon.
