we say as we spend our time oh so productively throwing our individual two cents into a never ending torrent of random, unrelated news articles, soon forgotten as it races to the bottom of the submission queue...

We've all got our crutches. Some are more socially acceptable than others.

YES! I've been saying this for YEARS!! You stupid potheads have NO IDEA how much damage you're doing to yourselves with this noxious weed.

You can't make something MORALLY acceptable by decriminalizing it, and your reefer madness makes criminals.

I'd argue more, but I've still got a blinding headache from my hangover, and I need to get another cup of coffee and a cigarette.

Better chase that down with a HFCS carbonated beverage and a McDonald's hamburger. And don't forget to go beat your hooker.

Ohhh...that's a good idea- maybe I'll have a nice, greasy McLunch.

But as for your insinuations that I pay for, or am paid for sex, I'll have you know sir, I do *not* participate in illegal activities. I thought I made it clear that I am a good, Christian girl.

Anyway, I have to go primp: I have a date with this really, really rich guy tonight. He's suuuuper boring and kinda fat, but he's taking me to the most expensive restaurant in the city, so maybe I'll let him have some sweaty fumbling after. I bet I can get a tiffany's necklace out of it.

Anecdotal data is anecdotal.

Any substance that is prone to addiction and it abused can ruin someones life. It also cannot, if you happen to still maintain some semblance of control over your habit and not let it get out of hand.

To be fair, I thought Bush was more of a cokehead. The Bush presidency was kinda like an eight-year seed hit, though.

Historically, the voting public was willing to forgive a politician for some past "youthful indiscretion" such as taking a toke. However they were notoriously unforgiving of any politician that was pursuing de-criminalization at any level at any increment.

The slightest movement in that direction would make your Republican opposition (whether you were a Republican or not) immediately denounce you and start a campaign along the lines of

POLITICIAN X WANTS YOUR KIDS ON POT.

And of course panicky parents will vote for anything or anybody if they think it makes their little snowflakes safer. That's why we still host 25% of the world's prison population. And yes, social conservatives and so-called "drug warriors," I blame you.

I have smoked 2-3 times in my life, all 3 times it just put me to sleep. I am curious, is there a way to tell if someone is high while driving? I know alcohol you can take blood or a Breathalyzer.

Either Marijuana should be legal or alcohol and tobacco and a myriad of perscription drugs should be illegal. You need to decide what the role of the government should be, but it should be consistent.

/I do not agree with legalizing harsher drugs though.

Hold a pizza slice in front of them. Tell them if they don't grab it an eat it for a minute, they can go home.

Yeah, you wiggle your hand really close to their face as fast as you can. If they shrink back in confusion and say, "Woah, man, woah. Hey. Woah. Stop," then it's a safe bet that they're high.

Kevua 2009-05-10 06:43:07 PM
I would like to correct the 2-3 times, it was probably quite a few more if you count the 2nd hand buzzes I got when I was delivering pizza in college. Some times a person would open the door and the smoke would hit me like a brick

In Australia, there is a saliva swab test that police officers use. In the USA, we use a field sobriety test that involves observing the person during tests of agility and intelligence.

Dabbed in it. Bush = alcoholic. Obama = did drugs when younger.

If you're acting loopy and high, the cops can just arrest you for reckless driving and take your blood at the station.

Officially, you have a fifth amendment right to refuse the blood test, but if you do that you're not getting your driver's license back any time soon (you waive that right when you get your license).

Bored Horde 2009-05-10 06:47:41 PM
I know lots of doctors that would love to see pot and shrooms made legal, just so that idiot teens would get wasted on safer stuff that would cause less long-term damage then a bottle of cheap malt liquor.

You know what?. My brother, we were step brothers, actually, he had gotten a hold of some stuff. He never smoked or drank except sometimes when leaving Las Vegas, he had this stuff, really good apparently. Called pinapple express. Anyways, he was out back. Draft beer on tap. House party. You know. So he decided to smoke. You know what it's like when you're in that situation, you can't hardly wait. It was a Friday, they hadn't a care in the world. When you have the thought that tommorrow never dies, you just don't care about what happens today. So he smoked it and while he was waiting to exhale his heart exploded.

So think about what you do in this life, because when there's a crash, there's no room for an adaptation.

That too. People tend to forget that cops tend to use common sense when assessing situations. If you can tell when you're friend is high, so can a cop.

Playing devil's advocate: The reason women like that supported Prohibition was because there was no reasonable way for a woman to divorce her husband at that time. The husband might get a stern talking to if his wife showed up at the store with bruises, but she was still stuck.
