Let's let PETA have their wa.

And the next day in the Google Gourmet Cafe - Goat Curry!

What is it with Fark and PETA? I went over 3 decades hearing only a smigen about them every so often, but Fark seems to have the biggest GPS hardon for covering every time they take a dump.

mamoru [TotalFark] 2009-05-04 10:47:28 AM
They are absolutely right. Those goats should be up in the mountains in their natural habitats where there is probably much less grass and therefore more competition and thus a lower survival rate.

Fark the goats. They deserve to die rather than eat Google Grass™(beta).

AliasUndercover 2009-05-04 10:47:28 AM
They're pissed because the goats don't get a 401K.

What a lawn mowing goat could look like.

Google's lawn soon to consist entirely of small brown pellets.

/I just got off so I'm getting a kick out of this lawn.

PETA has to be the most farked up group of people on the planet, ever!

Concerned about how the goats were transported? Why, of course they all traveled in their own stretch limos. How else would a person transport a goat??

PeTA isn't pissed about using goats to mow the grass.

PeTA is concerned that the goats have good health and dental insurance, and that appropriate number of black goats and white goats are working.

Kentucky Fried Children 2009-05-04 10:48:44 AM
From my understanding, PETA opposes animals being used in any manner whatsoever by humans... but I've gotta ask, what is so farkin' horrible about a goat eating some grass? It's win-win, the goat eats as much as it wants, Google is "eco-friendly" by having an animal "mow" the lawn rather than emitting greenhouse gases from a lawnmower...

... I just don't see the issue here.

/guess thats why PETA at large confuses the heck out of me
//rant off

bemis23 2009-05-04 10:48:45 AM
Wow, I hate PETA's extremism as much as the next person, but clearly no one bothered to read the article, including subby.

icanhazstapler [recently expired TotalFark] 2009-05-04 10:49:18 AM
Better that the goats are fed and taken care of at Google HQ than euthanized at PETA HQ.

Pick 2009-05-04 10:49:35 AM
I hope they do not find out about the 2 horses and donkey "employed" at my estate in Florida.

lukelightning 2009-05-04 10:49:55 AM
Dear PETA:

I heard about a web site that abuses goats. It's called gootse.cx. I think you should go there immediately to examine the abuse in depth.

kippyj 2009-05-04 10:50:02 AM
PETA is really gonna' be pissed when google starts milking those goats and selling the proceeds on ebay...

On a side note: I truly believe the PETA people are just starving introverts...they're so misunderstood...mwahahahahahahaha!

Thisbymaster 2009-05-04 10:50:06 AM
Environmentalism will never stop until we are all back living in caves eating dung, or we kill them all and feast on their dry bony bodies.

ryarger 2009-05-04 10:50:27 AM
As always Fox News is right at the center of the action, making up headlines that exaggerate the article content. And, of course, subby is always ready and willing to take it one step further.

RTFA - PETA has no issues here as long as the goats are transported safely and given a healthy diet.

/PETA is an extreme organization and I often disagree with them
//There is no story here

Psycoholic_Slag 2009-05-04 10:50:45 AM
What, they're pissed for letting goats do what goats do? WTF does PITA want anyway?

I have a killer recipe for goat curry.

Great job reading the article, there, Einstein.

Dr. Q Alias 2009-05-04 10:51:56 AM
Oh, so some dumb news site called PETA to try to get them to complain and stir up some controversy.

ccunningham22 2009-05-04 10:52:19 AM
do they have goats on their land in order to avoid certain taxes by filing as a farm? like some companies keep cattle on their headquarters in texas...

nicksteel: Concerned about how the goats were transported? Why, of course they all traveled in their own stretch limos. How else would a person transport a goat??

So if they were crammed in, 30 to a truck bed, that'd be fine, right?

/If it's good enough for illegal immigrants...
//Google isn't doing this (that I know of) but that's all PETA was concerned about

transported safely?? How do you think that livestock is normally transported??

Are you concerned that they are not wearing seat belts?

EvilEgg [TotalFark] 2009-05-04 10:54:06 AM
They aren't mad about the goats eating the grass, but they want to make sure they have a barn or something for the goats.

I have had goats and shortly there will probably be no more grass for them to mow.

kevinboehm 2009-05-04 10:54:18 AM
PETA is an acronym for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. What is unethical about this? Is it that they have goats in a specific place? It's not like Google is operating some kind of goat sweatshop. They are just doing their own thing, in a particular area.

Lorem lpsum 2009-05-04 10:55:01 AM
"PETA responded to a TechCrunch call about the goats saying that though they have no problem with letting goats do what they do, they do have concerns about how they were transported and whether they have enough shelter and water."

Oh yeah, PETA sounds furious.

indinoheat 2009-05-04 10:55:24 AM
Their just mad that the goats have a job that mainly involves eating and none of them really have jobs at all. I say just let the PETA people come and eat the grass off googles lawn, and then everyone will be happy.

You can't please all the wackos all the time. Que sera, sera.

Giltric 2009-05-04 10:55:44 AM
If Peta spent as much on animals as they do on PR and spokespeople maybe they wouldn't have to kill and dump the bodies of tens of thousands of animals each year.

You could probably give away the animal and enough money to care for that animal for the rest of its life.

I know about the 100 year old lobster they fought to rescue from a restraunt fish tank (and it died during transport, another animal saved by PETA)

But is it true they did the same type of publicity rescue for a privately owned seal...and when they released it in the wild it was eate by a whale or shark?

larson254 2009-05-04 10:55:44 AM
I agree with PETA. These Goats need to be unionized right now.

O.K. Google. I need you to withhold 10 percent of what each goat eats everyday so I can hire other Goats to represent your Goats for better working conditions. How dare you not seek PETA's consent before employing non-unionized goats!

Last One Left: nicksteel: How else would a person transport a goat??

That is one of the better ways, but not really efficient if you have lots of goats to move in a hurry.

And of course ryanger fails to read even the headline before criticizing it. He just wants to jump to conclusions.

Ample Sample 2009-05-04 10:56:47 AM
The part about PETA is an aside in an already short article. They aren't even throwing a hissy fit yet, just remarking that they want to make sure the Goats are cared for and transported humanely.

I hate PETA's douchiness like the rest of you, but RTFA before foaming at the mouth.

bemis23 2009-05-04 10:57:27 AM
