"yinz"???
Everybody knows the correct pronunciation is "yous"

If you've never heard of Saleen you probably read Forbes and drive a Prius.

4. Mitsubishi iMiev

Company headquarters: Tokyo, Japan

Why It's Cool: Mitsubishi just announced plans to partner with Portland General Electric to bring the iMiev (Mitsubishi Innovative Electric Vehicle) to the U.S. before 2012. The tiny car has a range of 80 miles from its lithium-ion battery and charges in about 13 hours from a standard outlet.

Price: $30,000
(estimate)

I don't know...sounds too good to be true...80 miles AND it charges in only 13 hours?

Fark that noise... my four-door pickup lets me haul my kids, my firewood, my garden supplies (you want to load a hundred pounds of steer manure in your racecar?)... get real...

Hey, troll, this is an article about cool cars, not cool climate. Please go over to the Politics page to start a flame war.

/why yes, I do drive a 361hp V8 and it's lots of fun

Stupid article.

Any car guy knows a "garden variety" Ferrari 599 Fiorano will crush those POS 's, plus it looks better than all of them and is built by a racing company.

Ferrari....... the best. Period.

Wrong. The Koenigseggeseggsiggegg owns it. Watch Top Gear.

Top speed is not all that matters, not at all.

Every decent car mag always comes back with the Ferrari as the one to own.

The Top Speed argument would apply more to the Veyron I'd think. For outright brutal car power, not posh speedy luxury, the Koenigsegg outperforms the entire Ferrari line up around the Nurburgring

farfigneugan: the Koenigsegg outperforms the entire Ferrari line up around the Nurburgring

Hey... I will happy to slum it in my low rent 599 Fiorano while you kick my ass in an ugly-assed Koenigseggeseggsiggegg.

Maybe that is why a bought a Honda S2000 instead of a Corvette. You have to spend quite a bit of cash to get a more pure raw driving experience than that little Honda provides on the street.

Fisker Begs to differ:

www.treehugger.com
Fisker Karma

www.dupontregistry.com
Fisker Karma S

In my mind, the most obvious benefit of Fisker over Tesla is that Fisker is actually run by someone (Henrik Fisker) who is a respected designer with extensive experience in the automotive industry.

Hailster: I found the article on high end prostitutes, that's linked on the bottom of the article, to be a lot more entertaining than this lame article.

That was indeed more interesting:
High Price Hookers (new window)

Dr. Scott Hampton, who is apparently a whiny homo douchebag, had this to say:
"Prostitution, whether it's high-end or any other form, is really just an expression of men's beliefs that women are disposable sexual objects or men's property."

And? And?

l3randon 2009-05-03 02:45:20 PM
Others, like the aristocratic Pininfarina Hyperion and muscle-bound Saleen S7, are exquisitely redesigned or hyper-souped-up versions of mainstream vehicles.

So, these are cars that the writer has never heard of? Because he's clearly confusing the S7, a purpose-built monster sprung from the dark recesses of Steve Saleen's mind (and a wind tunnel), for Saleen's modified mustangs. An unforgivable error.

Ferrari is great if you want an exotic you can actually drive without a headache. My ex-business partner owned a Murcielago (I had an E55, which I still drive - fantastic car) and it was ridiculously uncomfortable and impossible to park anywhere that didn't have valet (he lived in SF - me in Saratoga).

I've driven numerous Ferrari's and especially the newer ones are for the most part simple and fun to operate and drive. It's not going to beat a true exotic like a Veyron or CCX or some other car built purely for speed, but you can actually take it out without it turning into a major production.

//Favorite on the list was the Fisker Karma? Is that legal in the US?

moonduck 2009-05-03 03:09:29 PM
I knew 5 of 10. I Don't feel bad for not knowing about stuff like the SEAT. Whee.

As to all the e-peen-waving over supercars, I'll happily take an Ariel Atom 2 over pretty much any car on the planet.
