I have a theory that Farkers submit headlines with the correct spelling of "Colombia" and the modmins change it to "Columbia" to get us biatching.

I have no evidence of this.

My friends who live there want me to correct submittard: It's spelled Colombia.

Why would he bury money in South Carolina?

Well they change headlines calling Texas supporters of Palin from "morons" to "suckers" after greenlighting it. Can't offend those Texas based advertisers don't 'cha know.

I'm only 25. The banks won't give me funding for a lawn.

Where is this "Columbia" I keep hearing about? Is it a country near the Tropic of Stupid?

tehotherbilly 2009-05-03 12:00:36 PM
I remember seeing a documentary on that guy. He had so much money buried on one of his properties that when a torrential rain came it washed some of it downhill to where the poor ass people in the shanty town lived.

If the money rots before they can find it, it'll be better for our economy.

They traded one combustible commodity for another...

I am sure it is long gone, someone knew where it was.

I met his brother before he went to prison, and his kid(brother's) was one of my students.

But here is a what a typical girl wandering around Medellin looks like.

WTF? Did I just read that correctly? There is no state of columbia in the USA - you were high during geography. Let me fix that for you:

Columbia = river in western USA
Columbia = a District cut out of Maryland and Virginia
Colombia = a South American country

The guys profile says he is in Medellin,Colombia so he probably does not know all the states as well as we do.

There are also a few cities named Columbia here as well.

Medellin is the safest large city in Colombia now. It is an awesome place with the nicest people in South America.

This was probably hush money. Or better yet a weeks wages for their company!

1. Start rumors about Escobar's millions
2. wait for dipshiat westerners to arrive in Medellin
3. Rob, rape, and hold for ransom
4. PROFIT!!!!!!

Seriously, he had that shiat in banks everywhere in Medellin and all over South America. I'd be shocked if kept more than a couple hundred grand buried somewhere. In the end he was traveling far too light to bury much of anything anywhere.

Towards the end his lawyers were selling everything he had. That is, the ones who weren't murdered. The rest was likely pillaged from banks who kept his money off book, or stolen by the few left in the Medellin Cartel.

What was left was probably taken by the Cali Cartel, Los Pepes and Search Bloc.

FTFA:
"Pablo was earning so much that each year we'd write off 10 per cent of the money because rats would eat it in storage or it would be damaged by water or lost," writes Roberto,

So the first year you're down to 90% of the original sum
the second year you're down to 81% ...72.9% ...65.61 ...59.049 ...53.1441 ...47.82969 ...43.046721 ...38.7420489 ...34.86784401 ...31.3810596 ...28.24295364 ...25.41865828 ...22.87679245 ...20.58911321 ... until you're just over one fifth of the starting amount at 18.53020189% 16 years after his death and that is only true if it is a linear progression which wouldn't be true if there is a biological component like mold which would cause a geometric loss of currency. The truth of the matter is that Roberto who was presumably the chief of accounting and knew where every peso was has probably spent the last 12 years in prison with his nuts in an electrified vice and a taser stun baton stuck up his ass while every warden, guard and bunky got every centavo he had to give up.

These guys are going to get some suckers to buy into the fantasy, fund their expedition which will primarily be a prepaid tour of titty bars and brothels for them while the suckers think they're out trekkiing in the jungle fighting FARC (no relation to FARK). Hey, but nice work if you can find it.

It was good, but way too many people place a higher status on it than it deserves. Must be the Jan Hammer soundtrack.
It was interesting, though. But really, it was just a bunch of people telling their stories (some more irritating than others). The hitman interviews were particularly riveting because his monstrosity was so plain as day - talked about killing like I recall what I had for breakfast.
