In the spirit of full disclosure he did mention that his popularity was limited to a hand-selected group of former Italian ventriloquist stunt-doubles.

Personally, I would try to avoid comparing myself to Napoleon at all costs. IIRC, things didn't work out so well for him.

So long as he keeps invading Russia off his daily planner I guess he'll do okay then.

He's only popular because people think Berlusconi is some kind of Italian entree.

"Oh, yeah, I love Berlusconi covered in melted asiago. With a nice Chianti, of course."

second only to Napoleon

Good, let's exile him to some small island somewhere then.

xav 2009-05-03 07:58:48 AM
And his second and current wife is divorcing him. That comes after the news he attended the 18th birthday of a ballerina that calls him "daddy", even tough he was never present for the 18th brithday of any of the children he had with this current (ex-actress) wife.

Let's exile him to the Maddalena ... the island that was supposed to host the G8 meeting this year. For TV shares stake, he's relocating the G8 to L'Aquila, a capital city recently hit hard by an earthquake.

Ted Kennedy's Brain Tumor: Italians do enjoy those trains being on time, I guess.

Interestingly, Italian trains are on time most of the time. Italy has a good train system. The scary parts of Italy are in the south if you're trying to catch a boat somewhere. I think the Greeks and the Italians are in coercion.

/Mussolini didn't make the trains run on time.

Apparently he's not even that popular in his own home.

If you are travelling on the trans European trains yes. The local services are shiate though.

I don't know. I think we will be hearing a lot of things about Italy in the coming months. They just grabbed up a bunch of assets of the globalist banks. They suspect they are crooked. Go figure.

Even though I don't know who he is I did want to go out and get me an Italian flag to wave.

Stay Cool Babylon: According to his polls, he actually is.

Yeah, but IIRC he's way behind Kim Jong Il, who's somewhere between 99% and 100% according to his nation's polls.

Coercion? The Greeks and Italians are threatening the boat captains into being off-schedule?

It's actually a bit true. Sometimes the weather isn't cooperative and everyone argues for a bit. I once saw a fistfight about the schedules on a ferry to Brindisi.

In addition to running Italy, Berlusconi owns Mediaset which has Italy's three national television channels, which together have approximately half the national viewing audience, and Publitalia, the leading Italian advertising and publicity agency. He also owns Arnoldo Mondadori Editore, the largest Italian publishing house, whose publications include Panorama, one of the country's most popular news magazines. He has interests in cinema and home video distribution firms (Medusa and Penta), insurance(Mediolanum), banking, real estate and a variety of other activities. (from wiki)

Not to mention he owns AC Milan.

I've met girls that are 15-years old and looked awfully older than that. Guess it's just the life you lead. And the lights, and the photo crew ...

She was a ballerina in a popular TV show, maybe such endeavor adds some age on a person.
